"This place needs a deep clean. As soon as we opened the door we knew is wasn't clean due to the smell. Never had this problem at other rentals.The bathrooms had scum on sinks and unclean toilets. The carpets hadn't been vacuum and the tiled floors were sticky. The leather settee and chairs were cracked and grimy. The bed linen was clean but old and faded. Uncomfortable old matressess. "Room was ok but small Very sml"

"The staff were friendly. Our room was smelly and there was hair on the carpet. We were moved to a different room immediately, which we appreciated. This was a lovely room. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. On arrival ( at 3pm), the corridor leading to our room was scattered with empty bottles, glasses and plates. There were dirty plates outside our room, too. Not a great first impression. We stayed for two night and our room was not cleaned during our stay. We were told that they were busy due to a wedding. I was not impressed as this is part of staying in a hotel. I appreciate that the hotel was busy but there was lots of queuing. We waited quite a while to check in and there was a long queue on both days to get into the restaurant for breakfast. It felt like the hotel was understaffed as even going to the restaurant for dinner took about 10 minutes of waiting to be seated. The staff were friendly and worked very hard."

"Staff were very welcoming and chatty. They were also helpful when we needed things. The Rooms were fine but looked a bit tired. The cover had fallen off the bathroom extractor fan and the heated towel rail was held together with electrical tape for example. However the TV had a full range of "freeview" programmes. The adjoining Hungry Horse was useful but very busy as we hit it at 7.00pm on a Friday evening. Breakfasts were Okay. Food was good but orange juice ran out, the coffee was just basic filter coffee that was left warming and there was only "breakfast tea" sachets rather than a selection but prices were very reasonable."
