"The staff at reception were very helpful and extremely welcoming. Room was clean, lovely and warm and had everything we needed. Onsite carpark was good and close proximity to The Helix was great. Downside was there was no breakfast included, however that definitely wouldn't put us off going back and recommending this hotel to others 😁"

"The Good: The staff were very helpful and welcoming, the room was cleaned to a high standard and there is plenty of parking on-site. The Bad: The property is very dated and in dire need of a full renovation. We had one of the “studio apartment-style” rooms and the shower controls were cracked and the grouting and paintwork overall need re-done, the carpet was old, the sofa was threadbare and the furniture in the room looked like it was mismatched and looked like it was bought from charity shops. The room was warm but the heating controls didn’t work so the heating couldn’t be adjusted. Fine for a place to rest your head but probably wouldn’t stay again unless it was renovated to a much better standard. Disappointing for a conference venue that also advertises weddings."

"Brilliant hotel. Our first time being there. We were there for one night for the Ministry of Sound Classical gig. The hotel was super clean. Our room was for 3 people. A double bed with a bunk up top. The bunk bed was really easy to get to even for an adult. The room itself was lovely and clean and the beds were comfy. We all slept well. The room we had, had a sink in it and the toilets were just round the corner. All of the toilets were individual cubicles that were completely private. Each one that we used was spotless clean (it put my own to shame) The staff were excellent from start to finish. Really helpful with directions to our venue (thank you for that) and again when I wanted water out of the vending machine. They also have a smashing coffee and tea machine that gives really good coffee and a huge selection of tea. Something I did not expect. For the money it's definitely a no frills hotel. But honestly I'd definitely stay here again. 5 stars all round. There's also the Chinese Banquet place literally nextdoor for anyone looking for food. It's a win all round."

"Paid for two superior rooms at a price that was relatively high considering the location (i pay less to stay in cities and this was a village) but was very disappointed to find no breakfast included in the price. Staff were nice. The room had some black mould on one wall by the door, otherwise clean but no remote control for the tv - so couldnt use it at all. Bed was comfy, but felt a little short changed still."

"The hotel is a beautiful historic building in the centre of Stirling, once an infirmary, bank and library, and the exterior still has that charm. The location is excellent, with Stirling Castle and the Old Town Jail a short walk uphill, and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. Parking is limited at the front but we paid £18 for 48 hours, and there’s extra parking behind the hotel. The public areas—bar, reception, lounge and breakfast room—are modern, stylish and welcoming, and staff were pleasant throughout. Unfortunately, our room (114) didn’t match the standard downstairs. The décor was very dated, the headboard had yellowed, the furniture was scratched, and the black sink was marked. There were only two usable plugs, no bedside sockets, no bedroom mirror, and the tiny fridge only held two complimentary tins of water. We also found hairs on the wall, toilet and bath. Breakfast was nice, though the stained blue cloth under the food made the area feel less hygienic. Overall, the hotel has huge potential thanks to its history, location and lovely communal spaces, but the rooms—especially ours—need refurbishment. I would stay again, but only in an upgraded room."
