Wonderful hosts but overall too noisy and no sleep
Excellent hosts - nothing was too much trouble. Also wonderful breakfasts with plenty of choice. But we just didn't sleep well at all. The beds very soft and our sleep was disturbed by noise throughout the night. Our room had an interconnecting door and we could hear every word from the room next door even when our TV was on. Can also hear people walking about in the room above as the floorboards are very creaky. Doors slam when being closed. Boy racers in cars with noisy exhausts race up and down Harrowside at night too. It's such a shame: if it wasn't for the noise I'd give full marks.

Lovely Number One South Beach
Hotel location is great. Its immaculate. Our room was very hot with the sun on it even though a fan was provided. I would recommend and return. Breakfast great also.

FORGET THE REST.....THIS IS THE ONE TO BOOK
The hosts at number one show just how running a Hotel/Guest House should be done. The friendly personal service, the standard and cleanliness of the rooms with everything being top quality throughout. (no expense spared here) Breakfast cooked to order was excellent. Parking was easy, restaurants close by and a very quiet location, so if you are visiting the Blackpool/ Lytham St. Annes area this must be the very best accommodation. We are quite a "picky" couple but just cannot fault number one. Definitely one for the discerning!

Really nice place to stay at the more quiet part of Blackpool. The staff are so friendly and helpful and breakfast is a a treat! Would definitely stay here again when in the area. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Hotel in Blackpool (rare to find!!!)
This is a fabulous hotel. From the initial check in, to all interactions, the staff were amazing. They took us to our room and explained everything, breakfast is cooked to order, bar prices are very reasonable for a hotel, room was clean and had everything (water, coffee with fresh milk available), sweets. Jacuzzi bath with TV in bathroom. Location is perfect for Pleasure beach and easy access to Lytham St. Annes (we were there for Lytham festival). Highly recommended and will return.

Some very good things but ultimately disappointing
Had high hopes for our stay - we've looked loads of times at this property but not felt plush enough. Pros: > very warm reception > great service from Abby as well as the two co-owners > everything was very clean > breakfast food was fabulous Cons: > room was roasting hot, even with both windows wide open and the radiator firmly off - my fiancée usually runs cold but even she couldn't sleep in her pyjamas it was that hot. This was mid-winter so I dread to think what it'd be like in the Summer. > times during the day when nobody seemed to be available at reception - rang the bell a couple of times about 1300 and there was no response. > when I asked if anything could be done about the heat I was told "we don't have air conditioning" and "all rooms are the same" - which seemed at odds with us being moved in to that room the previous night because it was 'nice and warm'. Felt like I was being given the 'difficult guest in height of summer' spiel but it was the middle of winter. Would have been nice to have been offered another room given they had few bookings that day > AV setup is out of date. No way of hooking up a phone (Chromecast) or Roku/Fire TV/laptop via HDMI to TV in order to watch Netflix which feels like pretty basic functionality in this day and age. I feel very conflicted about this review because the owners themselves were great - but the truth is that we paid £145/night, which is the most I've ever paid in Blackpool, and didn't sleep well either night.

I have stayed at Number One South Beach a couple of times previously, and it is my favourite spot to stay when I'm in Blackpool. A supremely comfortable 5* boutique hotel, it provides the warmest of welcomes from the fantastically friendly owner-managers (Mark, Graham and Janet) together with the highest standards of customer care...not to mention delicious breakfasts. When I was very badly let down by CCabs, a local taxi firm, having booked a car 24 hours in advance to take me to a time-specific event and it didn't turn up, Mark dropped everything he was doing to rescue me and drive me to my venue. Not many hotel owners would do that, and I shall be eternally grateful. This is a gem of a hotel that I highly recommend.

Lovely stay
Stayed here 2 nights to relax and I definitely accomplished that. It’s quiet and peaceful with a nice view. Staff friendly and helpful. The thing I was looking most forward to was the bath and I was not disappointed. If you’re staying here probably take some water bottles. I felt bad as I had to ask 4/5 times for them to refill mine for the kettle and for drinking. No complaints really.

Amazing hotel.. me and my husband are regular visitors to the hotel and on every occasion the stay was outstanding.. All staff are welcoming and professional but with such a personal touch.. Would highly recommend 10/10.. :)
