"The hotel is unique in decor. It is older, but very clean and antique decor. I loved it. We were pleasantly surprised to get a larger room. Very close to Central Park and Museum across the street. Also subway is close. We walked to the theatre district for a play. I was so happy to find that cleaning staff found my wallet. I had left it in the safe and staff had given it to the office. "I've stated at the Empire Hotel twice and will continue to do so. The hotel itself isn't in the best condition but i would say it's good. If you're looking for high-end luxury, this would not be the hotel. Though there is a rooftop restaurant/bar, there is no in-room dining because the hotel doesn't have a kitchen.
