“Would stay there again on my next visit”
This hotel is in a great location. It's only about 2-3 blocks from the train station and is within walking distance of the Guggenheim museum. The hotel looked new and in very good condition. The room was clean and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again on my next visit to Bilbao.
“Great hotel in a great location”
The Abando Hotel is ideally situated for walking the town, shopping, visiting attractions, and mingling with the local residents. The hotel is in great shape and the rooms are very clean. We had no problems with the air-conditioner in the room and wifi/internet connections worked fine. The front desk is helpful (especially if you try to use a little Spanish) and they will quickly pull out a map to point you in the right direction. The elevator was small but worked fine. There ia a 3 level garage if you rent a car. It is a ten minute walk to the Guggenheim Museum, 15 min. to the Euskalduna Convention Center, and 10 min to Casco Viejo. There is a small park close by, and numerous local bar/restaurants to enjoy tapas(pinxtos) and people watch. We had a great 3 days, no problems, and can't wait to return.
“Clean, comfortable”
The Abando in Bilbao is a nice place to stay. If we go back to Bilbao, we will consider staying there again, depending on the hotel room deals available at the time we book... Very near old town area. Walking distance to Guggenheim. Hotel room very comfortable. Breakfast tolerable, but nothing to write home about - small dining room - coffee was warm (not hot) all 3 days we were there. Appears they do a lot of local business - wedding and parties. Staff friendly & helpful. We booked the Abando based on Expedia user reviews, and were not disappointed.

Very nice hotel, staff very helpfull, easy walk to all the attractions of this very chic city.
“Pleasant hotel in a good location for walking”
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. WiFi works well. A pleasant walk along the river to the Guggenheim. If you have a hire car don't park in the street, use the garage. The street parking signs are confusing and you might end up with your car being towed. But even getting the car back from the pound can be fun! (The hotel staff helped immensely.)
