I’ve always wondered about this hotel on the bay, besides the view you get, the aesthetics of it was great! However, first experience wasn’t what I expected. Checked in using the kiosk they had, and unfortunately got stuck while making my room key. I then stood in line to finish the process at the front desk. Was told a room number, and even double checked what he wrote on the card sleeve, and walked to that room to open it up, and encountered a do not disturb sign hanging. Figured I do my due diligence and try a different room that had the first and last 2 of the same numbers and it worked. However, when I walked in, I was a bit confused as to why it wasn’t the layout I requested and book (but was never communicated regarding the change at the front desk). I decided to go back to the front desk and addressed the issue with another employee, and asked him about the room number first since I was confused why I was told different. I then asked why didn’t the other employee tell me when checking me in, and he said so the guests don’t walk away. Honestly, I would rather be told up front rather than walk into a surprise. I asked if the room layout I requested is available, and he said unfortunately they’re all sold out after trying to accommodate my request. I just dealt with the change and went back to the room since I was already exhausted. Room was mediocre at best for the price, and the parking at $50. I would’ve been nice to get accommodated for the change w/o notice!

Arriving, I struggled to get my luggage up the steep stairs & was surprised that the guy at the top, who was standing there watching me, didn't offer to help. He opened the door & that was the extent of it. I was told my room would be ready in less than an hour so when an hour came & went I checked in again at the front desk and the young man immediately said it wasn't ready yet. I then decided to sit in the lobby instead of out by the pool, and within a minute, the room magically became ready. Overall the rooms are nice and huge and Laura was great at resolving an issue with an employee looking into my window. It would have been nice to have someone mention the ipad turned off all the lights, I fumbled around way too long looking for switches that didn't exisit. I was surprised at how many kids were playing in the pool morning noon & night considering it felt like a more adult/boutique vibe hotel. I didn't feel like I could swim and relax. The breakfast cost is very high, and the eggs in my omelet were overcooked. It came with a side of bacon, but instead, the chef put it in my omelet, and it was chewy. The sweet paprika overwhelmed the side of potatoes so overall I ate about 3 bites and left the rest. $68 later after a $12 cup of coffee & tip I came away vowing never to eat there again. Upon departure, I again wrestled my luggage downstairs by the pool as an employee who had a vacuum in the walkway didn't offer to help. Overall, I'd say the service was poor for the price.

Room was spotless, beautiful view, and more than my husband and I imagined! We were taken care of in the utmost respectful and wonderful way. The staff good advice and beyond and are so friendly, personable and professional. This by far was the best place we've ever stayed!
