"Property was in good condition, clean and modern. Booked through Expedia who advised we could pay at the motel and that my credit card was to secure the booking only. On arrival found it had been charged already. I wanted to pay another way so this was very annoying. Not sure if it was the motel or Expedia who did this. Reception advised it was because they get lots of no shows which we were not."

"The room was nice and clean but really in need of a renovation. The bathroom is very dated old shower and cracked tiles, fan in bathroom didn't work. The carpet and furniture and TV in the room are also dated but we were glad to have full sky channels. The staff were lovely and helpful and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Best aspects were the view and position on the lake as well as the heated pool. The grotto was still out of order. Overall I would say the room was like a 3 star and let's down the hotel."

"I had a pleasant stay overall. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the location is excellent—close to everything you need in Taupō. However, the property could really benefit from some upgrades. The furniture feels quite dated, the bed was not comfortable at all, and the sofa couch and carpet were not up to the standard shown in the photos. Also, be sure to bring your own toothbrush, as one is not provided. Overall, I’d rate this property 7/10. With some updates to the furnishings and better attention to guest amenities, it could be a much better experience."
