"Our stay at the Shijo Takakura Hotel grandreverie was great! It was the most memorable room of our trip to Japan, a great design and lots of space. The stone shower and bathtub were especially luxury. The staff was incredibly attentive. It's the one place we'd immediately go again!"

"The rooms are really comfortable, the location's great -- you have the market and the subway steps away and can easily walk to Gion.
The staff are wonderful, they go above and beyond and the hotel offers amenities from toothbrushes and combs to free coffee, soft drinks, and complementary sake and wine.
Would stay there again."
"Nice hotel. Loved the dance show. The staff were absolutely fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. I had lost my camera in a taxi and they went out of their way to find the taxi company and arrange for my camera to be delivered. So grateful to them!"
"If we had known about this hotel earlier, we would have made it our main base in Kyoto. The location is extremely convenient, with easy access to both bus and train lines, and plenty of dining options in the surrounding area.
The hotel itself is excellent and clearly very popular. The onsen is superb—spanning multiple floors—and the property offers a number of thoughtful extras, including complimentary ramen from 9 to 11 p.m., which was a fun and welcome touch.
Overall, we were truly glad to have stayed here. It’s a fantastic, well-located hotel that makes exploring Kyoto effortless."
