Room looked nothing like the pictures. Went down a long, dark hallway to our room. Room was shrouded in darkness with 2 small windows covered by shades. When we opened the shades, we discovered it was because we were looking only feet apart from other windows. The carpet was heavily soiled (I have pics) - it was beyond cleaning and needed to be replaced The bathtub was dirty and old. Grout was smeared across the tiles in half attempts to repair Furniture was sparse and old. One chair in corner - no desk. Guest at front desk when checking in was dealing with an ant infestation. No shower gel in tub - when I asked for it to be replaced, a sealed bottle was added which we couldn't open. And only bath towels were replaced (no additional washcloths, handtowels - they were all removed during cleaning) I feel I got the worst of the rooms in this hotel because I booked with Expedia instead of the hotel directly. Based on the reviews, there have to be better rooms than this,

Pros…Great location, friendly staff, close to Passenger Cruise Terminal. We would definitely stay there again, highly recommend it. Cons…No walk-in Shower or ramp for anyone with Mobility Issues/Aids. Shower over the bath is hazardous to the elderly or anyone with a disability.

Positives: Great location, Friendly staff and clean. Negatives: Property in need of a good updating. Carpeting needs replacement. Furniture is very used. Unfortunately we left an open candy bar on the night table and got a bunch of those tiny ants having a fast feast of it.

I’m sorry but, I cannot give this property any good rating . Issac at front desk was very nice but, that’s where it ended. We did get our money back but, it had already wrecked our special occasion. The place was not cleaned properly. We payed for a 1br apartment facing harbour and were created with dirt and dust. I was bitten from the time we went back to room after dinner( we had checked in and gone straight out) sitting on couch, then on chair and finally standing up at bench. When I called girl at reception she came up and promptly told me that it was allergies. This was most definitely not it. There were other negatives but, the icing on cake was when I pulled back bed spread for bed to find a bed bug.i went down and girl came up and found two more. We were moved to an average room at midnight, resulting in not being able to open cases for fear of bed bugs entering them. This trip was for a special occasion as we were celebrating Wedding Anniversary and departing on cruise the next day. Neither of us got sleep or could change clothes to embark ship. I spent night in tears and nearly left in middle of the night to sit down at port. We had booked to stay here at end of cruise but, there is no way we would , even if free. The morning of the cruise was meant to be a happy occasion but, it was ruined for us. Sadly the owners did not make it dirty but, they do not keep on top of their staff who seem to like money for little work with the state of our room.

Whilst I acknowledge the shortcomings regarding cleanliness I can advise a thoughrough check of the room was conducted by our pest control team and they did not find evidence of bed bugs in the room. We stayed at the classic property where the bedroom was upstairs, despite situated on the road at Harrington Street which tended to be noisy due to passing traffic and people across the road staying at another hotel and location of a breakfast bar. With curtains open you get a view of the road but we left them partially open to get some light. Overall opinion good place to stay but keep in mind the more modern part of the hotel does have balcony views of the harbour bridge that we witnessed from our friends place. Everything is within walking distance to Circular Quay to check out the cruise ship at the pier. The Rocks is a good place to be, why not try it.

Property is located in a central location in The Rocks. Lots of great food and shopping within walking distance. Hotel is older and it shows here and there but is clean and the beds are super comfy. If you pay extra for the views of the opera house be aware that during "cruise season" most of the time your view is of a cruise ship, not the opera house. Even knowing that I would stay here again. The pro's far outweigh the cons!

The room was OK for one night would not want to stay longer. When we arrived to the room, it’s very worn and dated. I found a used washcloth from the prior person that rented the room on the floor of the bathroom which I thought was disgusting. There were spiders, crawling up the walls, the room felt unclean, I would definitely book a different place next time, but the location was great. The view from the balcony to the port and opera Theater was fantastic but I’m not sure it’s worth the room itself for the view.

Good location to stay at when catching a cruise from Sydney. Rooms could use some updating with USB outlets. Good kitchen but no table and chairs to eat at. There used to be.

The hotel is old and in need of updating. We had a king room at the end of a hotel with a small kitchenette. We found a cockroach on the top of the small fridge one morning and alerted the hotel front desk on our way out for the day. Upon our return from our outing we found the cockroach was still there. No further communication from the hotel staff regarding this. My husband killed the roach and we were leaving the next day but it was gross and unnerving.

Property was perfect for our one night stay before boarding a cruise ship. It was an easy walk to the Overseas Passenger Terminal, and we were able to drop our bags off at 9am and then come back to the room for breakfast. The property is showing some general wear and tears but that’s to be expected with the building it’s self being older. Our room was spacious and we loved the little balcony we had over looking the harbour.

Really really disappointed with this hotel. It's a great location and the room came with a view but from 9pm until about 3am there was construction in the street outside conducted by the city. There is no possible way that this level of work would have been done without notifying businesses in the area but the hotel provided no warning when booking or when checking in. This was not minor works, jackhammers and heavy equipment, I was completely unable to sleep. I called the reception and got no information or even basic courtesy. In the end I had to go and get information from the city, I had make a noise complaint. The work stopped not long after, can't be sure if it was because of the complaint. When I checked out the guy at the front desk didn't even ask how my stay was. Perhaps he knew it had been bad. It takes nothing to acknowledge a bad situation but that seemed too much to ask. This seems like basic customer service.

While the property is quite dated, the amenities were clean and comfortable for the single night that I stayed for. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It was walking distance for what I needed, and well known for Uber and UberEats. Complimentary toiletries in the bathroom were of good quality too, and the towels were nice and fluffy.
