ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC ACCOMMODATION, QUALITY AND VALUE AT REASONABLE RATES!!!
The premises are spotless, the unit has everything you could possibly need and more. So much thought and effort has been put into making your stay comfortable, warm and cosy. The bed was clean, fresh and comfortable, with electric blankets and bedside lights. There was a fully equipped kitchenette with luxury appliances, cutlery, microwave, tea towels and washing liquids available. The bathroom, although compact,...

Great spot for the night. Everything is modern and clean, bed very comfy
Only thing that would improve the experience would be a rug under the dining table or something to muffle chair sounds as we had a neighbour up early moving their chairs around constantly
Would stay again

We have stayed at the Matador in Sale previously. New management are upgrading guest rooms and some common areas. Our newly refurbished room was bright and fresh with an excellent bathroom, split cycle air conditioning, new paint, carpet, curtains and a very comfortable queen bed. For a few extra dollars, be sure to ask for an upgraded room when booking. You won't be disappointed. Included continental breakfast is more than adequate to start the day. Motel staff are most welcoming.

If Heyfield has an oasis this is it! What a wonderful property they have at Motel 3858. It's on the edge of town, but there's a nice takeaway Italian place within easy walking distance and other options just a little further down the road in the town centre.
We bought a bottle of wine from the bottlo, had a luxurious outdoor bath in our courtyard, then grabbed a takeaway Pizza to enjoy while watching a Netflix movie on the smart TV (using your own Netflix account). A really nice night in as...

This was my 2nd stay since June 24.
I had a warm welcome by the owner & the resident dog, Penny on arrival. My 3yo mini foxie had a great time with Penny & played with Penny a few times outside during the stay. The room was large & clean, and each accommodation is located in private distance & it is great for quiet retreat with someone or with you pet to relax. Breakfast options are already in the fridge & pantry to use.
It is great for away from city retreat. I'm looking forward to stay again.

The staff were extremely helpful. We booked a room for the washer and dryer. It only had a washer so we got upgraded to a room that had both. No questions asked they just looked after our needs straight away. Lovely apartment as well

The best area to stay in Stratford is within the town centre itself, particularly around Tyers Street and the surrounding blocks.
This area forms the heart of Stratford, where you'll find most of the town's amenities and local businesses. Tyers Street is the main thoroughfare, lined with shops, cafes, and essential services. It's a compact and walkable area, making it easy to explore on foot.
For couples seeking a relaxing break, staying close to the town centre offers convenience and a pleasant experience. You'll be within easy reach of local eateries and the start of the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail, superb for a leisurely stroll or cycle together.
Families will also find the town centre a practical choice. Proximity to local parks and the opportunity to easily access local shops for supplies makes for a stress-free stay.
When is the best time to go to Stratford?
The best time to visit Stratford, Victoria, Australia, is during the warmer months, specifically from November to April, when the weather is most pleasant for outdoor activities.
During this period, you'll experience mild to warm temperatures, with average highs ranging from 20°C to 28°C. This makes it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region, such as the nearby Gippsland Lakes or enjoying a stroll along the Avon River. The longer daylight hours also allow for more sightseeing and relaxation.
Couples looking for a relaxing getaway often find this time particularly appealing. You can enjoy al fresco dining at local establishments, visit the Stratford Courthouse Theatre for an evening show, or take a leisurely drive through the scenic countryside. The weather is great for day trips to coastal towns or wineries without the chill of winter.
For families, these months offer excellent opportunities for outdoor adventures. The consistent warm weather means you can comfortably enjoy activities like kayaking on the lakes, visiting local farm experiences, or picnicking in one of the many parks.
