"I saw mixed reviews and chose to give it a try. I will say the best part is the pool! The love bugs were crazy at times but the marina is beautiful. Can’t beat that for a pool view. The property was pretty clean overall. My last night I did see 2 very large roaches, that’s unavoidable, in Michigan we have house spiders and centipedes… location was a big plus. You will receive 2 pool towel keys, if you don’t return them it costs you $50… overall for the cost and location I would return"

"Our stay at the JW Marriott was absolutely outstanding, and what truly made the experience unforgettable was the incredible beach staff. Olivia, Andi, and Braden delivered what can only be described as best-in-class service every single day of our trip. Olivia was warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. She had an amazing ability to anticipate guest needs before anyone even had to ask and made everyone feel genuinely welcomed and valued. Her energy and hospitality set the tone for an exceptional experience. Andi brought such a positive and upbeat presence to the beach area. No matter how busy things got, she remained calm, accommodating, and focused on making sure every guest was having a great time. She went above and beyond constantly and made the experience feel personal instead of transactional. Braden was equally phenomenal. His work ethic, professionalism, and attention to detail stood out immediately. He was always checking in, making sure setups were perfect, and ensuring guests had everything they needed. He genuinely cared about creating a great experience. Together, Olivia, Andi, and Braden created the kind of hospitality that keeps people coming back year after year. They are a tremendous asset to the JW Marriott brand and deserve major recognition from leadership. Beyond the beach staff, the resort itself was beautiful, clean, relaxing, and extremely well maintained. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional."

"Our first room, my issue was the carpet. It was extremely nasty. My feet stuck to it as I walked from the front door to the patio. I went down to exchange my room. I had to complain quite a lot to get them to switch me rooms with no carpet once I did that the room that I went into the bed, you could tell as soon as you seen it half of it, the frame was broke as far as cleaning, I don’t think the floors have been mopped since the building has been built totally overpaid for this experience"

"I stayed at the TradeWinds years ago and had such a wonderful experience but it was not at the Rum Fish Resort. Unfortunately, this stay was nothing like what I experienced in the past. We specifically booked a room with two queen beds, but upon arrival were told none were available and were given two double beds instead. My husband is 6’2”, so this made for a very uncomfortable stay right from the start. The room had a very strong mildew smell that was impossible to ignore. It honestly made the room feel unclean and unpleasant. We had also requested a quiet room location, hoping for a relaxing beach weekend. Instead, we were placed directly above and overlooking a massive beach party/event with 1,500 people. The event started around 6 PM and was followed by extensive breakdown and cleanup noise afterward until late in the evening. To make matters worse, we paid extra for front-row beach chairs, only to be seated in front of what felt like a nonstop frat party on the beach. Hundreds of college-aged kids were packed into the area drinking and partying loudly from late morning until evening. None of these kids were from our hotel, they kept pouring in from a walkway between hotels. Overall, we were extremely disappointed in our stay. We live locally and have seen the beautiful commercials for TradeWinds for years, but the reality was nothing like what is advertised."
