"We were not told when booking that the hotel was under renovation, so in the tower we stayed in we walked over cardboard,plywood and duct tape. We were not offered a different room because of all the construction, maintenance golf carts, and workers were very visible at all times. The room smelled musty, when we told the front desk they did send housekeeping up to spray, and make the room smell better. The bed was uncomfortable, low to the ground, and lumpy. The carpet was old in the rooms and noticed my feet were dirty looking after walking on it. If you are going to renovate it would seem you would close down that area so not to have such negative look and atmosphere. The restaurant was very expensive, $75 for breakfast without alcohol was a bit pricy. We were very disappointed in the hotel."

"There were 5 of us including 2 teenagers and a 9 year old. This was our first time in Hawaii and staying at this place was amazing. Can’t say enough about the location, how well stocked the place was (food and items for the beach), and the communication from Francoise. Not only were the views amazing but being so close to things to do and stores and restaurants, was so convenient. The beds were comfortable. The place truly felt like a home away from home. Had everything we needed to go to the beach like chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear including fins, sand toys for our youngest, beach towels, and coolers. Francoise was so awesome at communicating and responding very quickly to any questions or concerns we had. The only things that were negatives were that the on-site laundry was being renovated but thankfully the building manager was able to recommend a nearby laundromat that we were able to use. The other was that while there were ac units in the main space and the main bedroom, the other two bedrooms had a standing fan and the rooms were a bit warmer but the kids were able to sleep without complaint so not too bad. I didn’t realize until the last day that there was a box fan in the closet that could’ve helped. There were ceiling fans throughout and utilizing the balcony outside shades during the heat of the day helped. Overall it was a great experience and would stay there again if we visit Kona."

"Our host, Laury, was great about answering questions before we arrived. He sent detailed checking-in instructions how to get from the airport and how to access the unit. The full kitchen and bedroom were well furnished with everything we needed with extra beach chairs, umbrella and even an iron for our use. Close to old downtown Kona, we strolled on a Monday with very few people around. The sun finally came out the last 2 days and we were able to get pictures of the water and sunsets off the balcony. A beautiful, restful stay in Kona!"

"Everything by was fine except our bathroom sink was clogged and the A/C cover wasn’t attached properly so it rattled all night. Needs more attentive maintenance that doest skip steps for the sake of time. "

"The room was beautiful & the location was perfect. The only negative thing was the fact that the tv screen stopped working on our second day - was really looking forward to watching movies at the end of our days. Other than that, great basic room with a beautiful view. "

"The good:- Beautifully remodeled unit.- Very nice kitchen and bathroom facilities.- Walking distance to numerous restaurants.- Assigned parking space.The not so good:- No AC so keeping the windows open is necessary. That would be fine if the property was located in a secluded area, but being in the middle of a busy area with traffic noise, garbage trucks and landscape maintenance all ramping up before 7am isn't conducive to a relaxing vacation.- Nor are the sheer curtains in bedroom when the sun rises at 6:05am.- Very uncomfortable lanai furniture; high top bar chairs facing a narrow high bar/bench table. We tried using it once but gave up and stayed inside.- Chain smoking neighbor's smoke blows directly into unit.- 50 fee for making a one-day date change 4 months in advance of stay. Property listing inaccuracies:- Access is described as "elevator" but there are 8 steps after exiting the elevator.- The photo of lanai furniture is not current. I have included a photo."
