Hotel St. James

Hotel St. James

10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is not new and updated with 21rst century technology in mind(not enough plugs for phones and watches)but for the location and the friendliness of the staff in a large metropolitan city it was nice to come back from your day out site seeing and have the front desk staff say “Welcome back” and as you were leaving “Have a good day.” I liked that our room was cleaned every day and not at the housekeepers schedule. The lobby is comfortable especially if you are in one of the smaller rooms it is a place to spread out watch TV, read or talk with others."

8/10 Good
"Our family of 3 stayed for 5 nights in a Metro View Room, 2 Double Beds on the 35th Floor. The view was incredible overlooking the Empire State Building. We were warmly welcomed by the Reception who were quick, helpful and knowledgeable. We were in our room within ten minutes of arriving. The room was clean and spacious and although the beds were a little smaller than an average double they were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and there was plenty of space for the three of us. The rooms were cleaned daily and there were several sets of towels, soaps, lotions, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. The location of the hotel was perfect, with only a two minute walk to Penn Station giving access to all trains and subways right on our doorstep making the journey from JFK airport an absolute doddle (even with a 9 year old in tow!). So many attractions were an easy 10 to 20 minutes walking distance in any direction or the short hop onto the subway to travel further. The only thing I would say is that the hotel did look a little tired, carpets were worn and it could probably do with a fresh lick of paint but all in all we had a really enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel to others looking for a functional hotel which is comfortable, clean and in a great location."

"Great location and hotel. But the rooms are a bit institutional. A little stark."

"We had a lovely stay; the only downside was the high rise construction right outside our window. They start working very early in NYC!"

"It was a wonderful stay overall and would be definitely open to staying there again. The lobby was beautiful and we took advantage of the fun Photo Booth. Our room was pretty small but good enough for a nights rest. Only downside was the surprise additional fee charged during check in."
