This is a quaint property with everything you expect from a place built in the 1400s. The restaurant and bar area has many of the features of an old property such as beams, low ceilings and slab floors. The room we had was a large one in a converted older out building at the front of the property. It had its own outdoor sitting area and easy access to the adjacent carpark. Extremely good hotel with manager her friends and chef going out of their way to help. Chard is away from a lot of the major attractions but to those Brits that have cars and are used to the English roads, use this hotel. As an Australian I found the road system a bit intimidating but the people at this hotel more than made up for it. The breakfast is amazing with high quality local muesli and a great menu for the cooked section. Well worth it.

The first sight is exactly as the photo of the Inn, and we walked in to a happy and friendly pub, not rowdy, and collected our keys to our room which was as shown in the website. Generous with tea, coffee and milk, plus a pair of binoculours to look out onto the hill behind.
