Great location and hotel. Great place to come back to after full days exploring. Train stations close by. Love being in a hotel that feels like you are in Japan. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent location within walking distance to train stations and shopping town, especially the SkyTree shopping centre. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Comfortable hotel with very nice staff, single beds are bigger than I had imagined, great location very close to a train station with plenty of shopping and dining options.

Check in - smooth and quick. staff spoke English and answered all our questions.
Room (deluxe twin) - spacious, clean and comfortable. Pillows too soft (flattens out).
Laundry, microwave, ice machine, vending machine available as shared facilities.
Overall appearance of hotel - clean, well maintained. Perhaps hallways can use a fresh coat of paint/new wallpaper but not a deal breaker.
Breakfast - more western cuisine leaning, highlights were salad bar and soft serve ice cream.

Slightly out of the bright lights Tokyo, lovely and quiet with a train station close by. The hotel was amazing from the moment we stepped inside, and the breakfast’s were incredible. Can’t rate this place enough and was easily the best hotel we’ve stayed in ever.

2nd stay in Ueno and this is preferred location. Quiet but easy walk to market streets. Stations. Food. Park. Shopping. Bistro serves great F&B. Room larger than average and ever so comfy. Recommended!

Perfect location, 7/11 next door, train station opposite, shrine around the corner, multiple restaurants and room was spacious. Would absolutely stay here again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel NIWA. As a solo traveller, this is a lovely, safe area. Although I felt safe overall in all locations.
After much research I chose Hotel NIWA as I love the serenity here. It’s so peaceful, away from the busyness & the crowds, however a great location, close to all with such great transportation & so many fabulous dining options close by. The food is fabulous here.
The service standards are excellent. I found all staff so friendly, courteous & so helpful....

Great hotel ,the room was a great size double superior room for a family of four with two kids aged 7 and 8.
Breakfast buffet was a good section, and worth the 1500 yen per adult .
The only issue we had at this hotel was their was a glitch with the age of the children. The age of the children didn't come up on their system , as any children over the age of 6 was classified as an adult so an extra fee was charged per night of 1500 yen per child, other then that hotel was very good .

Location was very convenient, serviced by a number of train stations on different lines all within walkable distance. There were some beautiful blossoms outside too, which made for some nice photo moments.
The hotel itself was decent, service was good, cleanliness was fine, and the staff very friendly and helpful.
Loved the public bath, definitely recommend it for those staying. The hotel breakfast was also delicious, we tried both Japanese and Western styles and loved both of them.
