If I’m honest I didn’t have high expectations when booking this hotel we only needed somewhere to sleep but it exceeded everything, we had a lovely little balcony area, a bath although it was a bit slow to run the room was spacious plenty of cupboards and drawers to store things I was pleasantly surprised, the only complaint is the tea was the worst tea I’ve ever had😂 but we didn’t get food or drinks so I couldn’t possibly comment on that but I couldn’t fault the experience we had if we were ever to go back to Shanklin I’d probably stay again, we loved the fact it was dog friendly too

AS soon as you step into hotel drabness hits you. .I booked a 'Deluxe' twin bedroom with view. To start with key cards would'nt work. When entry obtained to bedroom, confronted by 2 Military style metal framed beds with a matress thown on top. The toilet cistern continually ran. Spiders craling out beneath the rotten skirting boards in bathroom,which had acompact shower producing a dribble. Shocking hotel-never again

Service is excellent but the hotel really needs updating. Bathrooms MUST be replaced in rooms- in one of the rooms we booked, the toilet came clean off the floor! Owners will not get away with this standard for much longer- the hotel needs investment. Location is great and price was ok- but definitely needs updating.

The room was dirty The fan had dust all collected on the outside. I had fleas or bed bugs I'm not sure at the bottom of the bed when I pulled back the duvet in the morning .They were alive and I showed the manager the live bugs on video and also gave her a dead one from my bed If that was not enough the bottom sheet had blood on it . Not mine . I am now covered in over 100 bites. Expedia being very difficult in arranging some sort of refund. Do not stay here.

The shower was not working because there was no water coming out. Despite paying a substantial amount for a one-night stay with my family, we faced difficulties in showering my daughter. It was a disappointing experience.

Hotel for Chartered Tours
Well after reading the mixed reviews, we decided to book this hotel for a 6 night stay after a cruise out of Southampton was cancelled. This seaside hotel (right across the road from the beach) was exactly what was described, and although clean, was in need of some "sprucing up" for sure. As with any property near Salt water, you will need a lot of upkeep and maintenance to keep it looking appealing. We used it as a base for exploring Shanklin, Sandown and surrounding area. It is a Bus/Charter hotel, with very little food/drink options, however there are plenty of excellent bars, restaurants nearby. The Beach Cafe 34 right next door is an Excellent Family run cafe open for Breakfast/Lunch with good portions and prices. The Hotel Restaurant was NOT open to the Public for Breakfast/Dinner during our visit, you have to pre-book and it only has a limited menu for the Chartered guests. All in All it was what we expected and were able to enjoy our time in and around this great Seaside village!!

Oyo shanklin
After reading a varient of mixed reviews we were apprehensive of what to expect but upon arrival staff were friendly, and our room was clean and adequate for our short stay. The hotel is right opposite the beach and within a short walking distance to pubs amusements and the chine. It's also perfectly located for exploring Shanklin. We would certainly return again for another short break.

Good coaching hotel that delivers
Lovely stay at this hotel. Free parking was great. Although some areas needed updating, the actual room was nice and large. Clean with fluffy towels and clean bedding. One mattress could have been updated, as you could feel the springs. The only feedback would be the kitchens/service areas below room 127 , there is a door that bangs constantly from 7am in the morning.

The hotel was cheap and suited us for what we needed - just somewhere to sleep and dog-friendly. However I didn’t see a member of staff at all throughout my stay - front doors were locked, bar and restaurant were shut (which we hadn’t been informed about in advance). As it happens this wasn’t a problem for us - as we were visiting relatives - but could be a problem for other guests. Hotel was dated and a bit shabby. TV did not work.

Our room had obviously had a leek and had black mold on the ceiling which smelled when you walked in the room. However the bedding towels and coffee area was kept spotless with room daily cleaning. The hotel has its own free parking which is a must at Shanklin and it is a fairly central location on the beach front.

Although my duvet was changed as soon as I complained, it is totally unacceptable to provide guests with stained bedding, be they washed or not. This hotel is split into two hotels ( we stayed on the left-hand side)and only the one on the right has a restaurant. ( possibly booking under another hotel name). You can get breakfast, however, it is additional to the room charge and you can only eat breakfast from 8 am to 9 am as the other hotel supplies the restaurant and it is mainly only for coach trip breakfasts hence the opening times. We were informed that it is a full English and continental, however, did not choose to have this at additional cost and also so time-restricted. Another weird factor is our hotel did not supply any food, the front restaurant is owned separately from the right hotel's restaurant and the food is cooked in the bar in the hotel on the left! ( But this hotel does not supply food for its own guests). CONFUSED ? so were we. The staff were friendly. Water for the kettle is from the tap in the bathroom sink, water from the sink was not good to drink. There were no complimentary soaps or shampoos, however, the towels were clean and fresh. Additional tea, coffee, milk, and sugar were supplied when required. Free parking around the back of the hotel, you have to give your reg number. Parking outside the front of the hotel is free from 6 pm to 10 am. locked in at night time, the only exit is fire exit to get around the building to reception
