My daughter and I stayed at Merta House for 3 days. The villa is beautiful and very comfortable. We enjoyed our walks through the village and nearby rice terraces. But what I loved most about our stay here was the way we were cared for by the manager Made and his family. Of course, they made sure we had everything we needed. But I especially valued the things like being invited to his home next door for coffee (and a quick tour) which let me really see how a typical Balinese family lives and how central religion is to their lives. With Made, we had an inexpensive customized tour as well. For example, instead of doing the touristy tirta empul water blessing, Made suggested going to Gunung kawi sebatu instead. This was perfect-tranquil and truly spiritual-from the offerings and sarongs his wife provided, to his careful explanations. This is the kind of thing we would have missed staying in some hotel. Instead we saw the real Bali.

Your house has a private door and street and private parking across the street and the staff is always there to serve you, the house keys will be handed to you upon check in ,, so you do not have to worry and you can come as you like.

We could have as little interaction or as much as you like. You can call or text me whenever you need something. I am usually at home or in the area so I am close to giving advice or help with whatever you need. I also enjoy sharing local culture and customs if you are interested to learn more about Balinese life. So me and staff are always standby if you need help during your stay.
