Decent with a great tiki bar
I stayed here by myself for a week while my daughter stayed with her team for a soccer tournament. The reviews are accurate, no drainage in the shower (maintenance responded and fixed temporarily), very loud planes overhead, moldy bathroom tiles, bad shower head, however, the good things were proximity to Sarasota airport and beaches, price, and a great tiki bar with great food on site. The pool is nice and the marina is pretty. I would bring ear plugs (for bedtime) and plan to spend most of my time outside during your stay but overall decent room for decent price.

No hot water in shower Shower drain plugged Cockroach seen in room Wiped down surfaces with disenfecting cloths which were filthy by the time we was done. No stopper in sink.. Nice fridge freezer. Nice yard and plenty of chairs to sit in along the marina. I enjoyed watching the aircraft coming in.

The unit is a renovated small motel room, one of approximately 50-75(?) in a former wing of the adjacent Ramada Inn. Owner had good intentions but poor taste. Furniture is too large, making it seem even smaller. Lots of rules, few amenities. There is a very good Tiki bar/restaurant next door and a nice, large, very cold unheated pool. Nice wharf ambiance.

Central location overlooking the marina, excellent restaurant, outstanding restaurant staff. Older building undergoing remodel, noisy at times. Couple of palmetto bugs got inside, seemed to happen when construction was happening. Older furnishings but functional. Door lock was very finicky, had to swipe card several times to gain entry. Boat rental place never called us back. Property is in airport's flight path, so be ready for low flying jets. Local bar crowd made it fun.

Secret lil hide away❤️
The unit is in Desperate need of some small repairs and new bedding. Shower drain clog’s, towel rack falls down, dresser drawers are broken but we love this place anyways. Price can’t be beat!

Read the reviews carefully on this property
We weren’t expecting much for the price. We were looking for clean and affordable but this is what we got: 1) the shower did not drain well and left you showering in standing water 2) toilet was stopped up and not repaired until day 2 after notification (and yes, we called the number and no one answered and then walked to the Ramada to ask for assistance and then called your number listed again) 3) this is a hotel room not a studio 4) it took until day 3 to figure out the shower was put in upside down. Freezing cold position and if someone else uses the water you lose the hot during your shower. 5) We asked for clean linens and we never received them.

I’m sorry, the front desk is usually very fast in fixing these issues, the hot and cold valve is very easy to figure out. The listing is very clear that this is a hotel room, also a studio Housekeeping is not included as the listing clearly indicates but the hotel takes care of all other issues. Not a fair review, see the other 5 star reviews here!

They was doing construction the entire stay making all kinds of noise when we just wanted piece and quite.The towel rack by sink was falling off the wall when we checked in.I enjoyed the pool but that was about it.

I was hesitant to rent this property after reading mixed reviews. As a older, single woman traveling alone, safety is a concern. I loved the atmosphere of the place - it was vibrant and fun, but definitely not quiet. Between the boats in the harbor, the tiki bar and swimming pool things were always humming. The room was nice, although not luxurious. The bed was comfortable, but the shower was horrible as it had no water pressure and the handle is on backwards so hot water is when you first barely move the handle and cold is all the way on. Because of this, I didn't think I had hot water at all. I tried to call the live in caretaker and got no response. Finally called the owner and it turns out the caretaker is no longer available even though the welcome letter from VRBO gave his name and phone number as the contact. Thats the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I would definitely reserve this room again if I was in the area.

Not an enjoyable stay
When we arrived (11:30 pm) our room wasn’t clean/ready so the hotel put us in one of their rooms for the night. The hotel staff was very kind. The room they gave us was only ok. The neighborhood seemed sketchy at best. The next day we had plans. When we got back we were given our VRBO room. It smelled very musty, was very outdated, no warm water for showers, floor seemed greasy, toothpaste in the sink, mold in the frig. We left and got a very nice room at a Quality Inn.

The place makes me very uncomfortable. I had to check out a day early. The linen is kinda old and the fabric was not smooth. It gives me itch for the whole night. The lights are so dim in the room and makes the whole environment very creepy. No hot water at all. Ants crawling around.

This room is absolutely fine. Nothing special, but it’s clean and adequately equipped. The view from the room is super. The pool at the hotel is really nice and the tiki bar serves good food.

Sheets have been replaced, if you had contacted Todd, the on site manager, he would have taken care of it immediately That room is not dingy, I spend a fortune keeping that room updated. See the other reviews

Only issues were outside the host's control - Our first night there a band was playing in the lounge. They were so loud they kept us awake until they were done, which was 11:00. The Bradenton Sarasota airport is also nearby, and the hotel is on the flight path. The host has a manager available on the property to handle any issues. We had no issues, but it's nice to know there's someone there to address anything that comes up.

I personally would not rent there again.
My friends booked the hotel portion of the Ramada, when we entered their room, it was modernized, ours was not. The base of the toilet was looking dirty, with pee drips, to which I took pictures. When I sat on toilet… there was a pin hole in the ceiling above, to which I got some drips on me. Hopefully it wasn’t a toilet leak from the room above. What my friends and I observed on the premises with the rooms to either sides of us with people actually living there, apparently year round was very sketchy. Different individuals going in and out, you can only imagine made us uncomfortable. Overall we made it work, as we were there to look around Sarasota up-to to Clearwater and surrounding towns and beaches. Oh and the Laundry unit was out of order! Restaurant portion was nice, which was located on the Marina side.

Sweet Spot
Wonderful property. Coffee every morning with the tarpon and mullets, cocktails every night at the tiki bar. Kind of it's own little community...never have to leave the property if you don't want to. I work remotely and this property was ideal! Hope to return soon.

Great place for a getaway!
My son and I had a great stay at Whitfield estates. It’s a beautiful location centrally located to everything. Safe location with plenty of locals being there. Todd the property manager is a great guy, took my son and I on a boat ride we had a great time. He also checked in to ask if we needed anything. Didn’t want to leave. Would definitely return!

Very dark room, dated
Several lights were not working. The bed was filthy underneath. They provided a 2x 2 piece of soap for 2 adults for two days. Had to go buy some. TV/cable did not work. We did not stay our second night as planned would love to be reimbursed for that but we’re thankful to leave the next day!

Wow, I'm sorry you couldn't figure out the wall light switches for the brand new lights in the room. I will check with the housekeeper as I pay a fortune to have the rooms cleaned. The soap could have been replaced if you contacted Todd the live in manager who lives two doors down in room 111. He would have responded in 30 seconds. You should have read the numerous emails you got before and during your short one night stay. NOT a fair review, its a beautiful room. see the other reviews for a fairer assessment Dave

A beautiful little hideaway on the water
Delightful and easy. David the owner is very responsive. Todd the manager is a jewel, personable and solicitous and instantly responsive. A really consistently nice experience, start to finish. The marina outside is quiet. The Ramada Tiki Bar is lively, nice crowd, and excellent food.

Beautiful stay
We enjoyed our first time in Sarasota and chose a great location. This room was very clean and comfortable...especially the bed. The pool was a bit crowded with kids but what can you expect. It was very thrilling to see airplanes so close above as they land at the airport just down the street. Would definately stay there again.

the condo manager, Todd, was very good. he always responded to requests that I had very quickly and gave me some good advice about the Sarasota area. the Ramada staff were also very helpful. Wish the gym would have been open, but understand the situation.

Great time and great stay.
After a check in problem that was resolved by Todd ,the property manager everything went smoothly for our 13 day stay. Location of the room and view is great! Todd took us on a lovely boat road. If you do have any problems Todd is easy to find and is very accommodating. I plan on returning . For the price of this room and beutiful location this place would be hard to beat. Tikki bar food is also very good got a huge fish sandwich several times.
