This place is super small, dirty, and worn down. The only thing I liked was the balcony but felt guilty using it because there were other guests rooms tied to it and I did not want to disturb them. It is not worth the price and I would recommend staying anywhere else.

We loved staying here! It was our first time in Europe and Italy, and it felt like we were staying in the heart of Rome. Everything was walkable, and we felt very safe. Even the locals said we’re staying in an amazing spot. The only downsides are that the room is a bit small and the shower flooded, but we would stay here again if we were to come back!

This property is anything but luxurious. The room was dirty, it had ants, the bathroom shower head was plastic and looked like it would explode, the bathroom shower was taped together with silver duct tape, there was mold all over the bathroom, dust everywhere. I could keep going but you get the point. The location and balcony were the only positive things I could say. For as much as we spent I expected more. I would recommend staying anywhere else.

Our stay here was great and in an exceptional location. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace and drinking cappuccinos provided by the host for breakfast who was lovely. The room was simple yet clean and comfortable.

The location was great and the beds were comfortable. But the shower had visible mildew stains and one of the toss pillows on the bed had gross stains on it. I was expecting a bit nicer conditions given the name luxury in the name of the place.

The accommodation is located right in the center of the city and you can basically walk everywhere. The personnel is super friendly and the room cozy. Only the bathroom could use a bit of improvement here and there.

Absolutely the best of the best! Frank greeted us upon arrival and was always available to give us recommendations and to make sure we had everything we needed. This property is in a perfect location, it’s spotless and beautiful. Will recommend always!

The room was basically clean. The shower needed a little work some existing mold. Shower door could be challenging as it bumps into the bidet when trying to get in, but definitely workable. Other than that the facility was very clean. Frank was very helpful and the location is outstanding

We liked that the property was within walking distance to attractions and the shopping areas. Building was secure with many locks. The downside was we had to carry around 3 keys and the key card for the room while out and about but it was worth the level of security. One thing we would recommend get changed was the name of the suite was on the key fob so if the keys got stolen or lost, the thief's could get into the room if they were found. In room safe was good, rain shower was awesome. Frank was very helpful and nice. Overall a good place to crash for a couple of nights

WARNING: If you Think you are getting a hotel you are not. CONS They wide about having laundry Paper thin walls if you are staying here think of it as you rented a bedroom in a house. YOU CAN HEAR YOUR NEIGHBORS WHISPERING. Light comes through the door between you and the hallway. Staff is only there between 8-10am 4 physical keys to get into room Shower did not drain This is not a hotel by any means if you like to go on vacation with random strangers and stay on the fourth floor with four other families, this is the perfect place for you other than that I would avoid at all cost. They will pre-charge you and overcharge you for city tax. They force you to pay cash. Pros Location

The property was in a good location. However, there are some major issues. The listing stated that it had an elevator and was accessible. It was not. The elevator could only be reached after going up a couple of stairs. The elevator in no way could hold a wheelchair. There were other stairs to navigate and we had to climb a 2 story outside, circular staircase to get to our room. The room did not even have a chair in it and the shower needed some work. The patio was nice but did not make up for the deficiencies. We have previously stayed in much nicer accommodations in Rome at a lower cost. The Shali is definitely not luxury and the accessibility information is inaccurate and needs to be changed to not accessible.

Disappointed, establishment can be better.

I was disappointed given the name of the establishment. Beware of the listed property highlights as they are misleading. -Airport transfer means they will call a cab for you. - Free WiFi- was not able to get reception In the room had to go outside for phone call and internet use. - No laundry facilities. Was told to wash anything had to venture out about 15 away. - Breakfast is smaller than expected nothing luxurious. - And most importantly the bathroom did not seem clean ( see pictures) - dust on the edges of the bedroom floor looks like it had not been cleaned for a while. Although the front reception was nice and the location is great for shopping and sight seeing, things can be better.

My wife and I knew we were booking here more for the location than anything else and it was still a disappointment. It is a 2 minute walk from the Spanish Steps / conveniently located near the Spagna metro - but these are the only positives I can honestly come up. The central air vents (not the AC) were stuffed full of dust and do not appear to have been cleaned in months. After inspecting the bed upon checking in, we found dead bugs folded into the base sheet of the mattress... I understand the calcium present in Rome's water can make cleaning difficult, but the shower was full of soap scum and looks like it had never been given more than a courtesy rinse as it's "cleaning". Frank may be available 24/7 by WhatsApp but the hotel is not staffed 24/7 - an important distinction as Frank appears to only be there to check guests in. The front door is rarely locked, meaning security is entirely contingent on an evelator and the expectation a staircase door on the hotel's floor remains closed. Something that a guest could easily open and no "staff" would know of until the next time they show up for a check in.

We stayed in the rooftop unit and it was amazing. The room was cute and we loved having the rooftop lounging areas to relax on. The hotel was very accommodating, they let us check in early and check out late due to our flight times. We slept really good and the AC was very powerful (not common in Europe). The location is in great proximity of all of touristy spots, shopping, and cafes (Coliseum and Vatican City are about a 20-25min walk). This location is dated but that’s honestly why we loved it so much, it had cozy feeling like you were staying at a relatives place.
