The hotel is in a great location, with amazing views. The staff were really helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was really good. Hotel is a little bit old style, but clean and quiet. Well worth staying here if you’re thinking about touring the isle of Portland.

A different location!
My family moved to Portland last year so during the Winter months when my husband is working I travel to Portland with my Aunty. We normally stay at the Admiralty but we decided that we would try the Heights. We found the Heights to be more organised with a 24 hour reception and good service but we were a little disappointed with the room that we were put in as we did not have a sea view nothing compared to our view from the Admiralty. We found the room slightly smaller as well and although the ensuite was better we were disappointed with having no toiletries other than a shower gel/hair wash on the wall and one soap. We also found the towels were quite small especially what was meant to be a bath towel. The service at breakfast was great as was the breakfast there was a good choice of continental and cooked. Would we re-visit? Im not sure...it would depend on the price comparison for the two hotels at the time we would look at visiting.

Great views . Nice staff decent rooms.
Very comfortable bed. The waitress serving me dinner was exceptional. The room was a little old fashioned with dark woods everywhere. But quiet and comfortable.

Had an amazing couple of nights over bonfire weekend, room was very clean, very good size too, only criticism would be the size of the TV (not that we generally watch TV, and just find it easier to use our laptops for films, YouTube etc.) Had an amazing meal in the restaurant while being able to see the various fireworks that were going off in the distance, not the cheapest meal we've ever had, however we did have a bottle of wine with our meal, it was one of the best meals we have ever had, so felt it was good value, and there's obviously a small tax for the gorgeous views. Breakfast was included in the price and was also very well cooked too, there was a small choice of continental breakfast items too, but I'm always going to go for a cooked breakfast if there's a choice. Overall I have no issues in recommending the heights, yes it's a little bit on the expensive side for a three star hotel, but as mentioned before, those views from the restaurant are simply beautiful and worth the price paid

Lovely food and service from check in to check out. Reception staff, bar and waiting staff all kind attentive and friendly. Rooms a little dated, but very clean and overall comfortable.

October Portland weekend
Room was very dated and basic as was a lot of the hotel. Although very friendly and welcoming were the staff. Evening meal options were a little life’s in my opinion. Otherwise hotel is in an amazing location.

Stunning views. Area is a bit isolated so we struggled to find variety within walking distance for dinner. The hotel does dinner but was out of our price range. Room is clean and comfortable. Room was larger than expected. Good quality breakfast with variety of items to choose from. Lots of parking. No lift to upstairs rooms.

Great hotel in good location, Staff amazing.
Great views, ALL staff were amazing welcoming and very friendly. Great food and drinks, room was large, warm,cosy, great size bed soft and fluffy pillows, good size bathroom hot shower over bath. very clean. everything you want from a hotel will definitely be returning.

Hotel in great position for doing the costal walk, regular buses into Weymouth. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent food with fantastic panoramic views of Chelsie Beach and across to Weymouth bay from dinning area.

Fabulous location.Great views from the bar and restaurant overlooking the bay.Staff were great and very welcoming.Food was good but expensive for the type of food served.The rooms and public spaces could so with a refresh.On the whole a great place to visit with plenty to do and see.Would definitely sysy again.

Excellent service & food. All the staff were very nice & it felt very comfortable to be there. My only slight thing was that the decor in the bedroom was a little tired but it would definitely not put me off from staying again. The staff were attentive & friendly, the food was excellent & the view from the restaurant was stunning

Pleasant hotel with amazing views.
Our room was comfortable and quiet and very clean. We had tea making facilities and a table and 2 chairs. Plenty of hanging space and bedside cabinets. The furniture and decor was a little dated but it had charging points for mobile phones and a television and free wi fi.

Nice friendly hotel with a great view.
The views are fantastic provided there is no mist or fog. The hotel staff are always very friendly and welcoming. And The View Cafe serves some of the biggest cake portions I've ever encountered. My only disappointment this time was the placement of a flag advertising ice cream right in from of the Olympic rings.

Stunning location with great views down towards the rest of Portland and into Weymouth. My only main problem with this hotel was the food. On my first night I booked into the on site bistro, where I was disappointed to find I could only sit inside not outside. This despite the hotel advertising that you could 'enjoy dinner outside on our terrace at our restaurant soaking in the views'. I then had a starter of mussels, which whilst okay the rest either had broken shells or had mussels that were completely closed. It is common knowledge that if you discover closed shells whilst cooking mussels, you do not serve them! Same case with broken ones. I then had for my main a crab linguine. For £25 you'd expect this to be more then decent. However as soon as I started eating it, I realised the pasta had been undercooked. It was stodgy, chewy, almost to the point of unpleasant and it was also a big portion. All in all not very good considering the place is in a seaside town.

Nice Hotel!
Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and clean. Bed was comfortable. Views from Bistro was stunning. Staff in the Bistro were very helpful and attentive. Unfortunately, the food let it down. Evening meals were hit and miss. Repetitive menu and also quality of food was poor.
