"You have to recalibrate your expectations for a "resort". There is little lodging available in this part of the Owens valley and prices reflect it. The property is very dusty desert and the poor fit and finish of the cabins means dust gets inside. There is debris scattered around outside. I ran into a large board laying about with nails poking up through it. Electrical outlets in the cabin were failing - plugs routinely fall out. The door lock striker plate was poorly fixed to the broken jam, and had to be fiddled with constantly to get the door to close. Windows don't work properly or at all. Kitchen cabinets were labeled with "pots" and "pans", etc but but the only items provided were two dishes, two cups and a toaster. No utensils, pots, pans or any other kitchenware. The only way to use the toaster was to have it dangle over the sink where there was an outlet. The refrigerator barely kept items cold and made a grotesque and very loud creaking sound when opened. The cafe was nice but was open randomly, not according to the posted hours. It would not take that much effort to fix up the place, but there seems to be no motivation to do so."
