Convenient for exploring the Cedar Grove area of park, beautiful on the river. Convenient having restaurant-good food! Was also nice having the market there with frozen food & microwave in the market to use. Air conditioning wonderful in room. Very basic room but perfect for exploring this beautiful area of park. Mist Falls trail at Roads End was awesome!

Great value for a low price, and super nicely located in the middle of Kings Canyon.

Picturesque scenery

Best possible location. The Check-in staff were wonderful. The hotel is older and could use some remodeling. Food options are very limited and the grill staff are not the most polite or engaging. The views and the drive to get here outweigh the negatives.

My husband and I were out “glamping”. The accommodations were really nice for our needs. Comfy and clean. The lounge chairs near the river were relaxing and charming.

Comfy and perfectly located NPS lodge

Yes, it’s dated, but the location could not be beat and the comfortable bed was most welcome at the end of a long day. There was unexpectedly both WiFi and AC (which was particularly welcome on a very hot day), and the market opened at 7, allowing my very well-rested self to grab a quick breakfast before checking out and hitting the trail early that morning. Would 100% stay here again.

I really loved my stay at this lodge. The rooms were nice enough but not fancy but the location was great. We did see a bear from the lodge which the rangers drove off. It had a great view next to the river.

It was as a great place for an overnight. Lovely places to relax and enjoy the river without camping. It’s an isolated location, be flexible.

Room was clean, bed was comfy. Hot water for shower could be better. It was lukewarm at best. Nice market and small self order restaurant with sandwiches and salads. Food was delicious. Excellent WiFi. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Small lodge with around 20 rooms so that was nice. Right on Kings River. Views and trails close by and beautiful. As an fyi no gas stations close by so come with as full a tank as possible. Also if you have electric car no charging stations. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a National Park Lodge. It is very basic but the location is perfect if you wish to enjoy the park and get an early start on some hiking. The room was basic but nice and clean, staff was friendly and food was decent.

Nice Lodge in Kings Canyon

A small but nice lodge in Kings Canyon. Room was a decent size for our family of 4 although we didn't spend much time in it as we were either in the park or sat outside in the nice outdoor area. We paddled in the river and sat stargazing in the evenings. A good base for Kings Canyon & Sequoia NP. Staff were friendly. The shop was well stocked for snacks & drinks, plus we used the restaurant onsite too which was nice. Could have done with a Cedar Lodge signpost on the Cedar Village sign for on the way in.

Overall this worked out well for us but based upon the price the facilities and the rooms are very outdated. Location was great and they had a store and grill for food.

We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Grove. The river just outside the lodge was amazing. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms could use updating but the staff and the view were excellent. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

Excellent location on the roaring Rapids River. Great friendly staff, fantastic reasonably priced Café, delicious pulled pork with a bottle of wine on the river. Best to drive here in a sports type car, preferably convertible. We had a wonderful stay!!! Thank you very much!!!

We couldn't ask for a better stay. Oceanfront location, we loved watching the sunrise, sunset from our room & taking long walks on the boardwalk along the ocean. The staffs were wonderful. Room is nicely renovated, clean, bed comfy. Good light breakfast was included & the choices were very adequately thoughtful. We walked over to The Sea Chest Oyster Bar nearby for dinner, fantastic food & services there too. Hope to come back for another restful stay soon.

The hotel was as expected, a little outdated but still great option if staying in the park. Beautiful surrounding, friendly staff. Would be nice to have mini fridges in the room or at least an ice machine somewhere in the hotel. Gift shop has everything you might need including frozen food and microwave. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, thankful for the snack bar that had great food options. I would recommend the place to friends. It’s old and you have to look beyond that I guess. The beds were comfortable and clean.

The location along the river was beautiful and quiet. Wish the park service could spruce up the lodge and rooms some. These are not cheap rooms but looked like a tired motel. But location is splendid to enjoy the much quieter Kings Canyon NP.

We arrived on Oct. 6th so the shutdown was just starting and we were assured that it had no effect on the operations of the lodge. It was great being next to the river and the views were beautiful. But the lodge was just ok and the staff, a bunch of teens, were terrible. They were unable to give directions for even very close things; we arrived at night and asked where the visitor center was, and the teen did not know...turns out it was just a few hundred yards up the road. The snack bar was an overpriced joke that was out of half the items, and you had to drive almost an hour to find any other food options! The teens were very loud and obnoxious back in the kitchen and made the dining area unbearable. If I had to do it over again we definitely would stay in Sequoia Park instead, where the hotel was much nicer. We drove there for a real meal and knew we made a huge mistake going to Cedar Lodge.
