Once you work out the warren of corridors, rooms and hot-tubs it's fine. Some parts of the property are reasonably old but maintained, if you don't mind that there's nothing not to like about it.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Great value. Occupants of other rooms a bit noisy. No hot water in kitchen.
Very clean and very new. However, very small and doesn’t have essentials like a wardrobe to hang up your clothes. Basically living in a cabin but paying motel-hotel kind of prices.
This property was very cheap, and room felt mostly clean aside from black mould on bathroom ceiling. The entrance was right next to a huge bin, which was full of rubbish so not nice to walk past when coming/going. Spa and sauna was great.Overall place was quite run down and grubby. We wouldn't stay here again.
Spent a night here straight after climbing Mt Ruapehu summit. Chose it because it had a spa pool.
Staff were friendly and very accommodating.
Price was good.
Good quality sheets, comfortable room, clean facilities, lovely massage, nice spa & staff helpful.
Only draw back was, maybe the spa could have been a little cleaner, could feel dead skin while sitting in the spa.

It was very centrally located. We had to clean the filters of the heatpump to get enough warmth. Beds etc were comfortable and clean but we really didn't appreciate the lack of lighting in the room. That would be an easy thing to improve.
Wonderful surprise to stay in such a cute quaint place. The man on reception was very nice and helpful. Great to have coffee/ cafe on site, great view of mountain from reception. Loved all the plants.
Excellent central location - park and walk to cafes, restaurants, ski hire places, the Eclair shop.... and a direct drive up to Turoa skifields. We were happy with our stay - beds comfy and shower warm! Perfect for young people and couples wanting to be near the action.
The Snowman Lodge is located in the center of Ohakune and is easily accesible to shopping and restaurants by foot. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The room looked recently renovated and well presented. We will definitely be staying ahain in the future.
