They haven't clean the room well. We found some used under garments of guest stayed previously on the floor. The windows are not sound proof, so the night was horrible.

Very clean, lots of hot water & value for money. Some kind of hook needed in bathroom for clothes or dressing gown. Noisy at front of hotel that overlooks a busy A road when windows are open at night. Quiet once windows were closed.

Would definitely stay again
Great place to stay, friendly staff, nice rooms with comfortable beds, and a relaxing bar, had a meal from the Thai restaurant and it was amazing. Only a very minor thing but the shower could do with a shelf to rest toiletries on when using and water pressure was low although shower was nice and hot.May have been because I was in end room.

Premier inn standard, better prices. There was a Thai restaurant attached to the hotel or you could eat in the bar which served some Thai dishes and some classic pub grub. We were very satisfied with the quality of the food.

Well worth a visit.
We have visited twice in the last 12 months. Excellent hotel with good bar & restaurant facilities. Well situated to visit local attractions eg Beamish, Angel of the North & the Penshaw Monument. My only negative is the walls of the hotel are thin so if you have noisy neighbours they will disturb your nights sleep.

We spent three nights at the Highfield and found everything perfect. Room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was great and the staff were so friendly. Also loved the Tai restaurant attached. Food was amazing.

Convenient stay with friendly service
The hotel was very convenient for where we needed to be, clean and tidy. Beds on soft side but still had great sleep. Customers service was great - had a dirty kettle with black stains in the room and they replaced with a new one. They give you fresh milk for tea and coffee on request. Great Thai food on site n bar too! Parking plentiful.
