The property was newish and modern designed but our rooms were so dusty....we moved a chair and the dusty that came off it was ridiculous. My husband, and myself suffer from a dust allergy so we both didn't sleep well as she kept sneezing. Along with the music from the park across the road was sooooo loud. They had some musician on and the music during the breaks was so loud that our kids couldn't get to sleep. Our shower had mold on the floor corners too. Pretty average experience and won't be recommending or staying at this particular venue again.

What an amazing place to stay!.. we will deifnatly stay again beautiful rooms,beautiful food, and fabulous cocktails with a beautiful view looking over newcastle

The hotel had everything you needed and we were really happy with the room which had a beautiful view. The service was a bit more relaxed than what you would expect from a 5 star hotel but it didn’t bother us at all. We’ll be back when we’re in town.

lovely hotel that is a nice fitout of an old govt block and well done. very comfortable bed and nice room. The water pressure is not great though

Whilst the property is lovely and the roof top bar is fantastic, the noise from the pub next door is terrible. When I complained twice about this, I was informed that " we normally warn people on check in" - too late when you have paid for the room!

Dear Raymond, We offer valet parking for guests; we do recommend booking this in before check in as our hotel is a heritage listed site and therefore has limited parking available. Additionally, the hotel partner with an offsite parking company called First Parking on 11 Argyle Street just a short walk from the hotel.

Not luxury. Don’t be fooled.
Definitely not luxury. Novotel would have had more luxury than this place. Mould in the bathroom. Housekeeping was not to standard. Super Expensive valet, in room dining was filthy. Overpriced food. Not even cooked well. So disappointing.

Great place to stay. We Will book again. Great service. Clean. But get breakfast was great to have and enjoyed. Rooms clean and beautiful and quiet. Staff are very friendly and helpful and professional thank you. Recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Newcastle and booking was easy and cheap.

Perfect shirt stay
Couple of mid week nights at the coast. Easy walk to Darby Street, the harbour, convenient to beaches. Lovely room (Urban King).

Reception was terrible, we arrived @ 2:25pm hoping that the room will be ready. Reception checked us in but told to wait as the room wasn’t ready and said they will call us when the room is ready. 3:15 and we still didn’t receive any calls so we approached the desk and was told that the room has been ready since 3pm. Receptionist was not that welcoming as they supposed to be, it’s as if you’re an outcast. Valet service is not a valet service at all, on check out, they maid us walk all through the side of the hotel with all our things. Terrible experience. The positive was the breakfast and the staff in the roundhouse restaurant were fantastic.

This is a lovely hotel but unfortunately the service on New Year’s Day was not of the standard that we expect from such a hotel. When we stayed there last year the service and calibre of buffet was incredible…this year it was not the case. They need to invest in more staff particularly given the amount they charged on NYE.
