We loved our stay at Smyth Tribecca! It was our first time in New York and we loved the location. The staff was so helpful and gave us great recommendations!
the location is premium. and we like the size and cleanliness of the room. staff are super responsive when we asked for slippers and electric kettle. our main complaint is the decor is a bit old. the desk wobbles a bit and there is random buzzing sound coming from the fridge and receding lighting fixtures. the sofa bed mattress (we had a junior suite) is not quite comfortable but that was to be expected.
The front desk wasn’t very helpful or accommodating — possibly because they seemed understaffed over the holiday period. There was no coffee or complimentary water in the room, and the hotel itself feels quite basic. Even at Christmas there weren’t any small touches for guests, not even a cookie or piece of chocolate. On the positive side, the rooms are large and the location is excellent. The restaurant is good, but the service is extremely slow, likely due to the same staffing issues, so it may be worth skipping on busy days.
Rooms were spacious and clean. Location is quiet and grants easy access to the subway. Service was friendly and helpful when needed. I’d definitely recommend this hotel for short or longer stays.
