The only thing that could be an issue is noise, the pipes and floors make a lot of noise so you can hear your neighbours if they're awake. New pillows would be nice, mine were a little lumpy, but don't let that discourage you from staying, we still had a great time."

Learn more about National Park Village

Serving as the gateway to Tongariro National Park, this alpine village offers easy access to volcanic hiking trails and winter skiing adventures. Warm up with hot chocolate at local cafés after exploring nearby Whakapapa Village's visitor centre, where rangers know which trails have fewer people.

I got lost on the lost road in NZ and I travelled from Auckland to Wellington on the train.. both were exhilarating and unique experiences which I will repeat one day!
