I loved my stay at The Beetroot. Michael was really helpful, and lovely to meet; he also gave me an early check-in which was great. Sam who was doing work around the car park was also really nice and really helpful. The room itself was perfect - comfortable bed, great selection of teas and I loved the decor of the bathroom. The location was perfect, too - so close walking distance to everything: restaurants, cafes, the beach, and all the tourist attractions. I only wish I could have stayed...

Wonderful stay in a quirky questhouse. Our luggage was picked iup at the train station in their luggage bike (by the owner!)and delivered to our room so we could enjoy fish and chips on the beach at the Kiosk (very nice) and visit the Turner Art Centre before check in. Easy short walk after our stay with luggage to the station.
We were not in a sea facing room but enjoyed breakfasts in the beautiful Pearly Cow restaurant and visited the top floor bar.

My husband & I had 3 nights here. The owner, Deborah, was extremely helpful both before & during our stay. The accommodation is very spacious & has everything you need. The property is about 4 miles from Canterbury so is ideal if you have a car & don’t want to stay in town. The directions we received were excellent and we had no trouble locating the property. Would stay again if in the area.

Great location in the centre of the town; walking distance to everything. Don’t know about parking though. Lovely old building with very welcoming and exceedingly helpful owners. Very comfortable rooms and the full English breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended.

a nice place to stay - full of character and close to main attractions.
We had the attic room -ok for us but not suited to tall guests or those where a tight, steep and winding staircase would be difficult. Very good
breakfast delivered to the door .
We would also recommend The Corner House restaurant.

A gorgeous room in a gorgeous classic British hotel. It was spacious and had all the amenities needed. Great views of the high street as well. Loved it!

Beach activities, outdoor dining, and coastal walks are all particularly pleasant. This period also sees a full calendar of events and festivals, adding to the town's lively feel.

The area around Northdown Road, particularly towards Cliftonville, has a number of independent pubs and a few venues that put on live music, often showcasing local bands or DJs. It's a bit more laid-back than Old Town and you might find more traditional pubs here.
Finally, the seafront, especially near the main sands, has a few larger pubs and some arcades that open late.
