Excellent Value for Money
Excellent value for money, Clean but basic room exactly what was required!
The flat is big. The bed also is confortable.
The kitchen service is good and included.
Unlikely, many details in the structure could be better.

Bedding was clean, bathroom was clean and towels were clean. Whole place could do with a makeover but I’d stay again. Was convenient for tubes and overhead to get where we wanted to go. Lovely restaurant next door and pub over the road was really good. If you are looking for a cheap getaway then this is ideal.
Location is great, however the room was not particularly clean and the plug sockets was hanging loose off the wall.
Also i had to wait outside for 20minutes before i could check in as there was no one at the desk.
It’s absolutely no frills but for a solo traveler who’s often in London, that’s completely fine. The proximity to the tube is pretty good, and I loved the easy access to the DLR.

City Stay Hotel
My stay was for one night and the hotel suited my needs perfectly. It offered good value for money and the room and bed was comfortable. The room and building could do with redecorating but that didn’t affect my stay. Check in and out was easy and staff / owner friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for basic accommodation at value for money cost.

Hotel facilities were basic but everything you would need was provided. Friendly helpful staff & hotel situationed next door to the DLR overground & 200 yards from the underground. Room provided had toilet & shower, separate kitchen area, dining table & free wi-fi.
There is a convenience store over the road from the hotel also.
Would definitely stay there again.
Good value for money. Staff friendly, close to cafes and bars

Room 8. Two single beds. Clean sheets. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Felt safe. Good location for ABBA. Old building. But ok. Parking at a cost. Was able to park for the next day while sightseeing. Would stay again
Great location near the Underground. The room smelled foisty and the bathroom mouldy.

Fabulous located hotel for ABBA voyage
I wanted somewhere central, with a clean bed and en-suite but didn’t want to pay a lot. Fab location with a wonderful cafe next door (used to be Barclays) For the amount I paid, I can’t grumble, got clean, white bedding, towels and clean en-suite, was only there to sleep. Don’t expect much tho, everything is outdated and a bit grubby, it’s a 2 star, but you get what you pay for.

Good budget bed for the night
This is a budget hotel, the bedding was clean, there was a lock on the door, it was near the to tube - ideal.
There was mold on the ceiling, stuff in the room was broken, there was no kettle, and so on, but this is why it was so cheap for London. If everything was perfect the price would be easily double.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
"Parking" is minimal and you get charged to use a space around the corner. Room was small but clean. Very little room in bathroom. You are getting what you pay for. Convenient to bow road tube station, short walk to ABBA and London Stadium.

Terrible experience
I had a very bad experience with our stay in CityStay hotel. The room is not worth the rent at all. Heater in our room was not working and we asked them to check it but they never did. We asked them again but no response. We had to survive the cold nights without heater. Also cleanliness is very poor.

Hotel was fine; bed was clean. Only bad points; some noise from outside but nothing too bad. Room a bit tatty. At the price it’s what you would expect. No cold water in the bathroom; only hot. Beware that after booking online via an agent, it is advisable to call them to confirm; there seemed to be some confusion with the receptionist as a result of this. And also they require ID (driving license/passport) for check in. Would stay again.
The mattress was saggy, the toilet was literally black at the bottom. There was black mold in the shower. The skirting board was full of grime. The room stunk. The bedding was crisp and clean.

The best part is: reasonably positioned for Subway
The curtains in the room did not open or close. The blinds in the room were broken and did not work properly. There was what looked like a old combi boiler in the kitchen area, which we thought would help keep us warm as it was chilly outside, but the radiator in the room did not work.
If you are looking for somewhere to get a few hours sleep (and you are a heavy sleeper) then this place is average, there is some water pumps (or similar) that run loud (think I got approx. 4 hours sleep the first night. Staff are polite and friendly, it is about 3-5 minutes walk to the closest subway station, Abbey Road is approx 7 minutes away from the hotel.
Room was reasonably clean, doesn't look like it has been decorated (or painted) for a long time. No disabled access.
As I said for somewhere to sleep and store clothes for short break, it is OK, but if you want any sort of luxury (like working curtains / blinds to block out the morning sun) then wait until they have sorted these problems out.
My husband has been going up to London for Merchant Navy Day for a number of years now, and has always stayed at City Stay for at least the past 12 of them.
Classed as a budget hotel it is more than adequate for his needs.
2 minutes from the tube to Kings Cross Station it is ideally situated.
The rooms are clean and the bathroom is a reasonable size, but being an older building the stairs to the upper floors are not the widest!
There is a small friendly lively pub nearby with tables outside if you prefer something quieter.
There is a garage opposite with an onsite co-op shop and a Sainsburys store a short walk away to purchase your own food.
The kitchen is situated downstairs and is stocked with basics, bread, milk, serials etc, as well as cooking facilities. Obviously the state of the kitchen is dictated by the guests who use it but always starts off very clean daily.
There is also a small lounge with tv for socialising.
If you are visiting London for sightseeing then you save a lot on normal accommodation prices. You can pay at the hotel and they do have a 24hr cancellation policy.
