"My wife had a colectomy operation for bowel cancer on the 4th July and it was successful. The trip to Scotland was booked to allow her some time to rest and relax afterwards. She is 79 and also has dementia so we took her carer with us. The cottage was really nice. Everything needed was there and was of good quality. It would be difficult to fault it.We took food for the wildlife and the number and variety of birds was amazing. We struggled to find any other wildlife though. No squirrels, no deer, not even a rabbit or hedgehog. The last two days were unpleasant because we got swarms of midges everywhere. We kept the doors and windows closed as much as possible but they managed to get in the house somehow. My wife's face was covered in bites and she had a bad reaction to them. The swelling is starting to go down now (3 days later) Those midges are crafty - they left us alone for the first four days and then attacked in force. :-)We took food for the wildlife but ended up BEING food for the midges!Would we go there again? Probably not - but not because of any fault with the cottage - we like to try different places- but if we did go back it would definitely NOT be in the midge season. It ruined the holiday."

"We recently stayed at Fern Cottage and have to say that the cottage is in a stunning location. It sits only a few feet from the edge of the loch and is surrounded by beautiful forests. Great for dog walking! The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful and we had everything we needed. We treated ourselves to a meal at The Ardentinny restaurant/pub and it was excellent. The customer service was very good. If you love being surrounded by nature then this is a great cottage to visit."

"A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location - perfect for an escape of peace and quiet. Easy access to Dunoon and only a short ferry ride and train ride from Glasgow. Situated right next to the loch with seals and dolphins to be seen - as well as the occasional submarine! Very quiet location for quiet nights and a log burner to keep it cosy and warm."

"Great house, great location with lots of great walks with amenities close by. Communication was good with Linda, and there was a clear attention to detail when preparing guests for their stay. Would definitely stay again. We booked for Christmas with family and it was very special. Lots of nice memories were made. We were also super lucky with the weather so the views were outstanding "

"Cosy, comfortable cottage well situated for some lovely walks. Warm and friendly welcome from the hosts with a lovely little welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits, even dog biscuits left! The cottage had everything you needed. Would certainly recommend to anybody wanting to get away from the hussle and bustle of daily life."

"Cottage was lovely ..long drive in on a single track road was the only downfall. The "midges " were awful but that's to be expected in Scotland in summer. The cottage itself was nice and comfy...the log burner was good we used it a couple of times as the weather was typical Scottish. Very relaxing time . One other problem. We had was the TV . .the Freesat box was intermittent I think this maybe had to do with the WiFi."

"We had a wonderful stay at Ardmay Chalet. It was comfortable and cozy, and the view of the loch was spectacular. It was rainy most of the week, so we didn't get to try out the kayaks or SUPs. Douglas was a fantastic host! He was super friendly and was very responsive to our requests. "

"I stayed at Culzean House with my family (8 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs). The rooms were great; clean and comfortable. The location worked well for us. Some nearby, nice places such as Ardentinny beach and Lock Eck. We were also a short drive away from some nice cafes. We weren’t so lucky with the weather but we still had a great time and got some use out of the hot tub. I would love to stay here again, Chris."

"We had an unforgettable stay at Ardmay Luxury Cabins. The bungalow was literally 4 metres from the shore with stunning views of Loch Long and the hills beyond.Douglas is a fantastic host, so warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were fantastic too - canoes, kayaks and SUP’s were free to borrow which meant we were out on the loch every day in hot August sun. The kids absolutely loved it and well as my wife and I. I thoroughly recommend this place for a family holiday.One final note - the hot tub was also a welcome treat, great to relax in after a busy day with a beer watching the sun go down."
