Secluded Stream Side Bungalow

Only 90 minutes from Christchurch you will find this secluded property nestled between the old school and architecturally renowned St Andrews Church. The property is situated four kilometers from the beach, this stream side bungalow provides a relaxing break away.

You are twenty minutes from Akaroa which has a number of amenities. You are a short distance from a number of walks if you want to explore the Peninsular or simply relax and enjoy the native Kereru and Fantail that inhabit the surrounding trees.

For the children there is a stream at the back of the property which will keep them entertained for hours. The property is fenced although for those intent on escaping it is not fully secure.

The property is minutes from the beach and domain that contains tennis court, kids play ground, flying fox, basketball hoop and rope swing. The beach is safe for kids and there is a river at the southern end of the beach which is a perfect place to play and explore. Seals can often be seen playing around the rocks and Dolphins are often spotted in the bay.

The house has been renovated and has been tastefully decorated. This is an ideal destination for families and couples looking for a relaxing get away.

Great stay

The family bach is a lovely place to stay, albeit chilly in winter,it was very snug.

Lovely spot

Great stay. LOVED that our dog was welcome inside as this is sadly rare. Would love easier access to creek as Mum would have loved to have been able to get down there as it’s such a great feature.

Surrounded by nature

Absolutely loved staying here. Even in winter. So beautiful surrounded by nature. The sound of the beautiful stream out back. The beach is stunning. Easy drive to Akaroa for some shopping & lunch. Thank for sharing your home with others to get that true country experience

Lovely stay. Peaceful outlook. Clean tidy and really nice to be able to take our dog on holiday with us. Just what we ordered. A little further from the beach than expected but easy quick car ride. The bird life was really special.

Peaceful location

My partner and I had a lovely stay here, the local beach is beautiful. It was nice to get away from the noise of the city and instead enjoy plenty of bird sounds. The house has plenty of heating and is very cosy.

Great place to stay

It was a great experience staying in the property, very safe for kids and dog. 5 minutes drive to beach. Its a nice quiet place, sheep's, cows farms are around and natural habitats for lots of birds. Stream behing the property is great. Owner expect to clean the property at the end of your stay, it was ok for us to do, as much as we could.. definitely recommended.

Beautiful home away from home

What a lovely spot to be based at for a break, the hosts have certainly put a lot of thought into making it a lovely comfortable place to stay, but have still retained the bach feel, not to far a drive to the beach and domain which is a awesome spot to have a picnic and a great base for exploring other bays while taking in the awesome views of the Akaroa harbour, we would certainly stay here again.

Peaceful get away.

We had a wonderful stay at Le Bon bay. The beds are comfortable and the house is well equipped with everything you need. Every morning we sat in the deck in the sunshine as it’s a little sun trap. The children loved playing in the creek and Le bon beach is one of our favourite places to visit and swim. Thanks for the stay - we will be back for sure.

Just what we needed

Property was very clean, tidy, beautiful garden for my daughter to run around, had a cot and the rooms were very inviting. The living area was perfect size and the fire warm. Very please with everything that the accomodation had to offer and everything was comfortable. Very homely place.

Place for Quite Time

Roomy Retreat

We were looking for a dog friendly place to stay for an Adult family get together to honour the tenth anniversary of my husbands transition to spirit. This home met all our needs. Walks on the beach, fishing off the rocks, big sunny deck, fairly well fenced, well supplied kitchen equipment, comfy beds, good lounge and fire. good hot water and extra heaters. Lovely in the sunshine

The house was nicely decorated, clean and welcoming. There were a few things that were not ideal: the microwave out in the laundry, the logburner only putting out heat with the door open, and the water pump just behind the master bedhead. The stream was a bit more difficult to access than we had expected, and the sheep living there was an interesting surprise for our dog. The overall feel of the house made it a pleasant place to be in the sunshine, and it was lovely to be able to bring our dog with us.
