Our only complaint is the smell of the fish garbage from the adjoining restaurant that wafts into the hotel lobby. "Hôtel Savary is a little jewel located in a quiet corner of La Rochelle. The staff here is unfailingly helpful, pleasant, and solicitous. The shoreline is an easy walk away, as is a boulangerie and charcuterie. The old city is a longer walk, perhaps 2 kilometers, along a beautiful avenue. My room, with terrace, was very comfortable. A park, and church with extraordinary bells, are nearby. I recommend this hôtel very highly."
