The staff just could not do enough for you. We had a pool access room and the sea was 50m away with fresh towels available every day for use on the beach. Main strip is 15min walk away and only 5min in a taxi. Plenty of shops and restaurants in the local area also. Thanks to all the staff for making our trip so enjoyable....x

Lovely Stay With Melt Like Butter Beds Andy Pillow
Took a short holiday for a few days on the other side of the island. Very nice hotel with large rooms and the highlight was how comfortable the bed and pillows were! Wonderful. I ate at the restaurant a few times as I was just wanting to be lazy and stay mostly around the hotel. Nice beach dinner of seafood. A little pricey but goes with the accommodations. We tried a dessert second night and would by pass the cheese cake as it was served with ice cream snd didn’t do it for me. Lovely rain shower though surprised to not have hot water early 6am rise even after letting it run for awhile. Kind wait staff and reception. A little disappointed initially in no view from balcony as I was expecting but pleasant nature and birds all around.

We booked the pool access room, and were complimentary upgraded to a pool villa. I don't know why but it was the best thing that could have happend. The villa is absolutely gorgeous. It is clean, the private pool is amazing, the beach is right in front of the hotel, and I honestly don't understand some of the bad reviews. The breakfast is super yummy. Granted, the restaurant is a bit more careful with spice in the food. But you can always ask for a bit more if you want the food to be more hot. If anything I think that is very polite. The staff is wonderful and extremely, genuinely kind. You feel that they treat you kind because they really care. Our experience was more then positive. I would come back any time and I think we made a very good decision coming here, especially when talking past the other resorts on Lamai Beach. It is quiet, the beach is beautiful, the sunrise is a must. I highly recommend coming here.

It was not a good idea to book this hotel. I am usually not this disappointed but this was supposed to be a nice vacation. At arrival, the reception was not very kind for Thai standards. Usually people here are extremly nice. The room (pool villa) was absolutely disappointing. The walls are full with mold (see picture), it was dirty, the couch cushion is completely dirty. I won't sit on that for sure as it is full of stains. Also, you only get one room key which makes it impossible to have the air condition on while you are out. Meaning you will always need 20 minutes until it feels acceptable when you come home. The pool in the room is dirty as well. I won't go into that. The pool of the hotel itself is way too small and completely packed. There is not enough room at all. But the worst part of it is, that it is extremly loud in the room. I currently lay awake and can't sleep, in a bed way too hard and uncomfortable, because the club down the beach is so loud that my room vibrates. On top of that, there is a bird outside the window. No, not a random bird of nature. But a bird held in a cage right in front of my window. And let me tell you, he can talk. I do not recommend staying here and I regret booking this place. I am very sad and disappointed with it

I have paid top price to have just my self see front room What I understand they attitude try give room they could sale the room was no window pool area cover with wall you see nice Hoverever they put another for two days after 2day they manage have the room I was paid for so I stay my last two days in this room. Room is exclllent But in front of my balcony start doing contraction work even middle of night All the dust from cement mortar dust flying to m y balcony I could sit in balcony due this I say no respect for guest Hotel very far 30min one way to che Wang very th hustle and bustle cost 2000 bat £25 return for If you take pool side room kids noises If you take the see front room all night you hear. the choppy see sound You get many false smile

Wonderful hotel but let down by the beach.
Lovely modern, clean hotel with amazingly friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable beds, large bedrooms, and great breakfast and dinner in restaurant. However, anybody considering staying should be aware of the following:- 1. It is a 20 minute walk (or taxi ride for 150 Baht) alongside an unlit and very busy road to reach the shops/restaurants in Lamai Beach; 2. During our stay there were many families with very young children so sometimes a bit noisy around the two pools; and 3. Very unfortunately there was lots of plastic, fishing nets, rope, even some broken glass etc washed up on the beach! Perhaps the hotel could clear some of this rubbish from in front of the hotel?

Lovely place to stay for relaxing vacation
Very big room and very big bathroom. Nice interior but missing some art and night stand lamps, to make it more comfortable to read at night. Staff very friendly and nice showing interest in having small talks and making you feel welcomed. Pool and beach is very good. As a vegetarian it was easy to get something with only vegetables by asking the waiter.

Nice and quiet hotel end of Lamai beach
Nice and quiet hotel, tucked away at the south end of Lamai beach on the east coast of Koh Samu on the beach. I can't fault the service nor the quality of the accommodation, the helpfulness and politeness of the staff was second to none. The restaurant is unremarkable, food is fine standard Thai menu, nothing extraordinary, but plenty of other options in the area so no need to eat there unless you want to stay on site. They also have buy one get one free "happy hour" on cocktails, which they helpfully bring in unbreakable glasses on the private sun loungers on the beach. The massage on the beach is particularly good and highly recommended.

A pleasure to stay here
Overall The White Sand Resort was a real pleasure to stay in. The massive pros were that it has its own section of private beach and a good size swimming pool so I was actually able to do some training despite not having a gym. The people were absolutely charming and could not have done enough and my dietary requirements were always taken into consideration. The cons were that the resort is situated away from amenities and it took some time exploring the area to actually find my way around and realise that things were closer than they first appeared and the main beach street was about a 15 mins walk. It would have been helpful for the resort to produce a colourful but basic map with recommendations of where to go that were within walking distances and how much a taxi ride would be to main sites on the island. It is difficult to say this but if you are looking for clear crystal tranquil waters, White Sand beaches and everything "just so" then I would suggest that Thailand, as a whole, isn't the place to visit. Having said that White Sand Resort did everything they could to keep things clean and tidy and there was definitely an air of luxury and romance about the place. Despite 4 days of torrential rain and renovation taking place I had a comfortable and pleasant stay. The toiletries, towels and linen were really good quality and I agree with the overall 4* Rating. Many thanks to all the staff who helped me have a comfortable 6 days.

Pleasant stay in quiet area
We chose this hotel because of its close location to the beach and it being away from the full-on activities in town. The (pool view) rooms are nicely appointed, with smart TVs and balcony. The overall lay out of the hotel is fine. Its location is a bit too far from restaurants and bars and other activities. Best mode of transport is hiring a scooter as catching taxis in the evening was not easy. Staff are all friendly. Breakfast consists of small buffet, the restaurant food was nothing to write home about, there are better places to eat along the beach.

Good hotel
This is a good hotel that needs some good paining and a few members of the staff could speak better English. We had to request beach towels and hand soap a few times before they finally delivered them to our room. However, the staff was kind and the breakfast food was delicious. The beach is nice but you find a few sharp stones as you step into the sea for a swim. Overall it was good but I wouldn’t say excellent.

Awesome stay for my family
I searched for weeks on a hotel to stay at in Koh Samui. I actually had selected another hotel and it was sold out. So glad as the White Sands was top notch in every way. It's a new hotel, very modern, with all the conveniences- down comforters, soft mattresses (by Thai standards) AC, very clean, amazing staff with very good English. My family loved the grounds, the two pools, pool/beach side service. Even the hospitality desk was extremely helpful in booking our activities. Resort was amazing.

Lovely hotel
Lovely relaxing hotel. Very friendly staff, spacious clean rooms. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels. Fantastic beach front location with gorgeous pools. Negatives are expensive restraunt and uncomfortable seating in rooms. Also no draws for clothes only open wardrobes.

Amazing friendly staff
We stayed for 4 nights at the resort and had a wonderful time. Staff was exceptionally friendly, taking care of all our needs with a smile. Beach is lovely, and swimming pool / dining area is beautiful (located right on the beach). Note that Lamai center is a few minutes by taxi away (not neccesserily a bad thing). Can order car at hotel for 200baht.

Great space right on the beach! Food was good, and fun to walk along the beach popping into massage parlors and restaurants/bars. A bit cold and rainy for us to enjoy the pool villa, but the staff was friendly and we enjoyed our time there!

Lovely stay
Great place for relaxing and nice coarse beach. A few nice restaurants within walking distance up the beach. Very little impact in that the hotel is not yet finished. Can hire scooters through the hotel - very good service.

Great proximity to beach
Nice hotel, great being located right on the beach. Nice stroll during the day time to beach front places close by. Walk to the town is about 20 mins but wouldn't recommend walking back alone at night (a taxi is 200 THB). Breakfast food which was included in the room was good and served in a nice setting. Not sure how the restaurant will cope when all of the hotel rooms are finished as most mornings it seemed full and the hotel is not completed yet. Beach front villa was lovely. Thai but very modern finishing. Lovely to sit on the deck and listen to the waves. Very comfy beds and really enjoyed the spa bath. Staff are friendly but need to be more informed on how to get to and from different places with the hotel being a bit situated out of town.

Best resort at lamai beach
Staying at the hotel for 8 nights, was just perfect vacation. Modern new hotel, very well designed. Amazing stuff and view. You can't expect more! Coming back next year :)

Hotel still heavily under construction
This hotels still being built. They are renting rooms to guests inside an active construction site. I wish I was joking, but they are actually doing this and charging as if the place is actually finished. Unless you are staying in one of the very expensive villas at the very front on the beach, expect to be woken up at 9AM sharp to constant surround sound of band saws, nail guns, workers yelling and hammering until about 5 or 6PM. Their check-in desk right now is a temporary table and there are two major buildings on the property crawling with construction workers. The fact the owner thinks its acceptable to charge standard rates without warning guests about constant noise throughout the day before hand is very dishonest. Nobody flies across the world to have a relaxing pool side vacation with constant hammering and drilling in their ear. It's insane.

Dear Dave, We are really apologize during of period that you stay with us the noisy of band saws disturb you. We are really concentrate regarding sound to disturb ours guest but rarely the labour worker to use band saws cut a metal. Super gemütliches Hotel und dazu sehr sauber. Der Pool und die Lage waren unglaublich. Personal war dauerhaft bemüht, das wir uns wohl fühlten. Bett eine 10/10 :) wir kommen definitiv wieder

Underbara 2 veckor . Magisk pool med ytterligare 30 meter till havet . Underbar sand och turkost vatten. Smidigt med skjuts från hotellet ner till Lamai foodmarket och bargator samt shopping .
