Nora Buri Resort & Spa - Koh Samui Hotels

"Beautiful and quiet resort "
Very beautiful resort with huge rooms and great views, in a manicured tropical garden setting. The rooms were somewhat lacking for a 5 star resort in furnishings, but made up for it with the high ceiling features and the balcony which I really enjoyed. TV had a good selection of american channels - history, hbo, discovery etc. I didn't use the spa, but the pools were very nice though the pool bar rarely had someone there to order a drink from. The location isn't great in terms of restaurants or swimming beaches or stuff to do nearby, so it's more of a resort you don't leave much for a few days. We did walk to chaweng area, by just walking along the beach but it wouldn't be convenient to do so more than once a day as it was over 30 minutes to get there so for dinner we were stuck at the resort every night for the few days we stayed (which wasn't so bad.) The pricing at the hotel restaurant and bar were way too high for Thailand and more equivalent to prices at home in San Francisco. Overall really nice and relaxing resort, and i'm glad we stayed there but not for the whole trip.

"Good location but dirty room "
Close by Chewang and the airport. The hotel runs a limited shuttle service to their sister hotel KC Club by the beach - it's a few min car ride away. We booked a sea view room and the view was amazing. Room came with a huge jacuzzi tub in the balcony area - the tub could of done with a good scrub as could the rest of the room! Curtains were ripped and there were a few holes in the sofa and bed sheet. The bathroom had mould around the sink and the shower tiling. We complained and they said they had no other rooms free until the next day. And they would provide a deep clean of the room whilst we were out that evening - the tiles needs regrouting - not just a deep clean - I'd be embarrassed to rent that room out. Staff were pretty unhelpful until the next day different staff offered to move us but was not a sea view room, instead regrouted the bathroom whilst we were out for the day. Plus points - close enough to the busy district for market and restaurant and drinks. And away enough to get a quiet nights sleep. Breakfast was average, pool area average and if want a gym whilst on hols then take some sanitising spray and avoid the ripped up treadmills which is a health hazard. Location though is perfect and the rest of the hotel seemed very clean! Maybe we just got a bad room.....

"Your own home in KS"
I have stayed at Banyan Tree resorts in Bangkok and now Koh Samui and I can't speak highly enough of the staff friendliness and overall amazing experience at these hotels. The only minor downside was we specifically requested and booked an ocean view room which it could be argued we did have, however the ocean was only really visible through the tree line and on the far left of the room view. We were in Villa A10.

"Fabulous choice of resort in Koh Samui! "
We have just returned from our honeymoon at the Melati 3-11 July and we had SUCH a wonderful time, we would highly recommend this resort which would suit all types of holiday makers. Our delux room was HUGE for the two of us and maintained in such a lovely way and we even received a special honeymoon welcome- flowers and a bottle of sparkling rose ;) The staff did absolutely everything they could to help us make the most of our first time in Samui and at the resort, it felt like they were always happy to help. If you are looking for somewhere to switch off, Melati is perfect it's location really encourages downtime either relaxing by the great pool, beach or your room! Even though it is a part of the "main" areas of Samui, you get the best of both worlds, as they offer a shuttle bus, three times a day to Chaweng and it is easy to get to a taxi to Fishermans Wharf and other areas. Through Melati we; went on a bike tour which was a great way to have a local insight into the area, we also went on a day trip by speed boat to Koh Toa and Koh Nang Yuan. We enjoyed the BBQ on the beach as well as enjoying numerous happy hour cocktails by the pool.

"Wonderful experience"
Stayed here for three nights and enjoyed every moment from the lovely welcome to the amazing setting. The reception area over looks the beach and is just stunning. We stayed in the most basic room but this was spacious and modern with a big balcony with our own plunge pool. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful at all times. The area around the pool is beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the Vana Spa and had two treatments there. Two nights a week they have a BBQ buffet by the beach and this was delicious. We ate at Kiree, the Thai restaurant, which was nice but possibly more suited to a Western palate. Overall, an absolutely wonderful experience.
