"We absolutely loved our stay here, the only thing that threw us off was the property manager staying in the back property but they didn’t bother us at all. Would definitely stay here again! "Overall, my stay was adequate. The rental appears to be a hotel room with a minor conversion of a closet into a "kitchenette" area with a mini fridge and some utensils/bowls/plates. There is a microwave and toaster as well as a small coffee maker. I was expecting an actual kitchen to cook in but rereading the amenities, I'm not actually seeing Oven listed. I think the name of the rental "studio apartment" led me to believe it was a full apartment. The room needs an upgrade as the carpet seems well used and the room itself smells like cigerette smoke. I think if I had awareness that I'd be washing my dishes in the bathroom sink, I'd have different expectations of what I was renting and would have chosen differently. "

"Property was located conveniently in an area where there are no other hotels/accommodations within the same price range. It has all the basic amenities needed for a fuss free stay. I felt comfortable during my stay. Kitchen was a great to help with preparing meals and bed was comfortable. "

"This was one of the coolest rental properties I've ever stayed in. We were fortunate to arrive while Joshua was still there, and he gave us a tour of the property, highlighting some of the features (architectural, art, etc) that he and his wife have loving put into this rental. The house was so well equipped, we were sorry we didn't have many more days to stay and enjoy the property; from the games, movies, beach gear and fully stocked pantry, every detail has been thoughtfully curated. Location was remote, but Joshua's instructions get you directly there, and it's only 20 mins from the Volcanoes National park. NOTE: If you are lucky enough to be visiting during an eruption, it will take you FAR longer to get into the park. It took us 1.5 hours, but was an absolutely amazing experience. HIGHLY recommend booking this ASAP!"

"If you are looking for a cheaper place to sleep and you are by yourself I think it’s ok! I stayed with my boyfriend and thought there was zero privacy. Walls were paper thin right next to some other rooms that had dogs barking. The bed made a very loud noise every time we moved to side. For hot water we had to keep the water very low and when my bf took a shower the water got cold. but again if you want to stay close to the volcano and want something cheap there are not too many options there just beware of those things."

"Beautiful and spotless accommodations. Very friendly and helpful hosts that were responsive when we had questions but also gave us our privacy. The grounds are gorgeous and the house is located well, in between Hilo and Volcanos Park. Nice hot shower too!! "
