  • Aloha and welcome to KONA TIPSY TURTLE at Hale Kona Kai #403. This is the absolute destination should you want a relaxing vacation getaway on the Kona coast. The location of this condo complex adds convenience as fun activities and amenities are within walking distance. The condo has central A/C, along with complimentary cable and WiFi, and is located on the 4th floor (top floor) with no one above you, but don't worry this complex has an elevator making for easy steps to your paradise. Hale Kona Kai has assigned covered parking, a heated salt-water swimming pool, and laundry machines on each floor.

    If you havenā€™t yet experienced a Kona sunset in person, youā€™ll enjoy the front-row seat the lanai offers! Upon entry, you are welcomed with ocean breezes and truly remarkable views. The ocean comes alive with the dolphins and yellow tangs that frequent the area. The turtles (Honu) are definitely regular special guests, in addition to the seasonal whales. The picturesque view from both the lanai and bedroom creates a beautiful setting for great memories.

    We pride ourselves on cleanliness and make sure that we pay attention to all the details. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Also, beach gear is available for your use. Hale Kona Kai is a non-smoking complex.

Our stay was amazing. The place was Awsome. The views even better. The host was so on top of everything even sending someone to check on us during the crazy storm. The welcoming gifts were amazing. It was a wonderful place to celebrate turning 60. It was super clean and had every kitchen appliance known to man. The extra beach stuff and beach bag and backpack were oboe and beyond. I would definitely stay here again.

The condo is wonderful, well cared for and very comfortable. January weather is always a gamble and the storms kept the water activities to a minimum, but the location and comfort of the condo made up for it. The surf was high but the whales were close. The spinner dolphins danced daily, the turtles came when they could and the eels were active in the pools. All from the lanai. Well stocked kitchen and extremely nice welcome basket. So nice!

Where to begin...from the moment you step into the condo, not only does the view take your breath away but the warm welcome gift of fruits and goodies as well as the beautiful style of decor is so welcoming. The condo was spotless and if you so desire, you could cook to your heart's content as there are all sorts of gadgets including a bread machine, all in matching teal color! Perfect Kona Spot

A Perfect Accommodation and Environment

Great family vacation

This was our third time staying at Hale Kona kai and my first time in 403, this unit is an A+. The unit was very clean, well equipped with everything you need and nicely decorated. The location can't be beat, you are a quick walk to restaurants, bars and many stores. We really enjoyed a cup of coffee in the morning on the lanai and then a cocktail at sunset. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Anniversary trip

The condo was beautifully decorated and had everything needed for a truly comfortable and enjoyable stay! The Hawaiian music playing when we opened the door was such a nice touch. There was a beautiful welcome basket full of fresh fruit and treats which we enjoyed immensely. The location was ideal and we were able to walk to many restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here while on the big island!

Highly recommend! Steven was a wonderful host, helping us with numerous suggestions about restaurants and adventures. His apartment is well decorated and appointed so you can cook full meals. Excellent location to downtown Kailua-Kona, 5 minute easy walk to restaurants and shops. We would absolutely go back.

Perfect Escape

The perfect getaway for our anniversary trip! The condo was decorated to ensure a calm relaxing beach vibe. The bed was super comfortable, there were beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards supplied. We entered to Hawaiian music playing and a sweet note from Steve and Jenni. The lanai was wonderful to hear the waves and watch fish and turtles! And the location was perfect for walking to restaurants and shopping! Highly recommended and would stay here again!!!
