Hale Kona Kai is a small complex of 3 dozen absolute oceanfront condos in town but off the beaten path! Located on a quiet side street (75-5870 Kahakai Road) and just a short block walk to the village of Kailua-Kona also known as Kona Town. Hale Kona Kai is only 1/4 block to Honl's white sand beach and 2 blocks to the Kona Farmers Market.
All condos are non-smoking. Hale Kona Kai is a non-smoking facility. Each floor has coin-operated washers and dryers for your use. Each condo does not have its own washer/dryer.

The condo was in beautiful condition, the property was well run and maintained. The location is great, on the ocean and about a five or ten minute walk to great restaurants.
We loved staying in the Condo. It was extremely clean with well-appointed appliances and comfortable beds. The balcony offered beautiful views of the garden and ocean, and the location was central, with a short walk to the main town area. The pool facilities were excellent with stunning ocean views.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was nice to be able to walk to so many restaurants and we also appreciated the snorkeling gear and beach chairs available. Although the view of the ocean is limited from the unit itself, the complex offers common areas that allow for a full view - perfect for viewing sunsets!
Lovely property conveniently located in Kailua Kona town. Easy walk to everything. Only improvement would be a new mattress and new towels as they where getting end of life. Would book this complex again.
The condo is perfectly located. Off the main road, very
quiet other than the wonderful sound of the pounding
surf. Easy walking distance to many great restaurants.
The kitchen had all the necessary cooking utensils, as
well as many basic condiments for cooking. Enjoyed
sitting at the pool in the evening to watch the sunset,
and enjoying coffee on the lanai in the mornings.
Upon arrival, we were impressed with the managements, welcoming the cleanliness and beauty of the grounds and then, when we got to our room number 209 we were even more impressed with the decor, cleanliness the view, and the inventory of utensils, and such needed for a pleasant day
We loved our stay and the location of the condo. Loved being able to walk most places and explore the area. Didn’t mind the coin operated laundry but wished there was some place to access change on site. That was really the only aspect I would change.
The condo was very comfortable in every way. We had a very nice side view of the ocean. The condo was supplied with everything you could possibly need or want. Laundryroom was just steps out the door. Great location in Kona! Taina in the office is super friendly, nice and helpful! Wish there was something they could do with the loudly whistling frogs outside at night. Bring earplugs! Its not so loud if you keep all the windows shut.We would stay jere again!
The property was as expected and a good value for the price. The pans were newer, plenty of silverware, plastic storage containers, etc. The foldout bed was acceptable. I could not have slept on it, but my teenage son was happy with it. The King size bed in the bedroom was also acceptable.
If we were returning to Kona, I'd stay in the same unit without hesitation.
I broke a vase as I was leaving, so I'm sure it will reflect in my rating... It was an accident. I turned to grab my rolling suitcase and the duffel I was carrying knocked over the vase...
But the peoperty is superb. Ther is an elevator, which is a huge bonus. The AC is finally up and going as of mid September 2023.
All units are close enough to the water to hear the ocean all night. The coqui frogs are stupid annoying though. Not the property's fault. They are invasive.
My unit had an amazinf view of the ocean, and was close enough I could feel the mist from large wave breaks.
The property managers are quick to respond and great communicators.
The unit looks better in person than in pictures. It was huge! And had lots of amenities.

We had a nice view of the ocean. Anytime we had questions, we received quick support. It was in walking distance to shopping and restaurants and had free parking.
The driving instructions were clear until the location of the last urn onto the property. Amenities were fine, check-in instructions were fine. Rarely was anyone in the office.
Great location, sit on the lanai and enjoy coffee in the morning while listening to the sound of the ocean! 5 min walk to into Kona. Great accessories- mask,fins, 2 beach chairs, boogie board, soft cooler. Well stocked kitchen, with a outside community grill. Very comfortable. We watched the sunset each night. Note you cannot see the sunset from the lanai. Quiet area, convenient parking only a few steps from the condo. Note it is a tight spot, Midsize car or smaller.
We were right on the water, where we could see dolphins and hear the waves. Fantastic!!

Very relaxed place. Nice views from the lanai. Easy walk to lots of things to do. We are hoping to come back in a couple of years with the grand son and go snorkeling with him. Thank you for your help in making a great trip!

The unit was exactly as described.
We stayed in Unit 209 for five nights in February 2019. The unit was exactly as described. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped and within walking distance of downtown shopping and restaurants. We thought the value received was excellent for the rental fee paid. Wes Campbell

No AC as chiller broke. Informed us of this issue the bite before our departure. Did provide floor ac units. I asked for compensation for this issue & was given 174.00 for a 14 nite stay. Not much for such an inconvenience. The filter in the ceiling was so nasty & needed replacing. Would definitely not stay here again. Area is way too noisy.
