"Great spot, everything you need for a little getaway. Loved the wildlife, roos, ducks, frogs, birds, was lovely sitting on the front balcony watching and listening and chatting. Comfy beds, and loved the reclining lounge chairs. Everything you need in the kitchen and the shower was great. Was a little hard to to work out how to get out the back area, there some steps out the back on the right. Shops not far away, some lovely cafes and restaurants not far away and easy to get to."

Ballakup House - A Large & Unique Bush Retreat Nestled Among Native Grass Trees

"We really enjoyed our 3 nights here in amongst the gum trees, with every window and a huge front deck providing a different bushland scenery no matter where we stood, sat or walked. The beds were all comfy and no complaints were heard from any of our group of 6 with regard to them. The kitchen facilities were fabulous with the best coffee machine we have ever had and even a bread making machine was offered with everything working and lots of crockery and cutlery catering for up to 11 people I believe. Lovely hot showers and a spa bath were fabulous and although not used we were very impressed that fire wood was provided for an inside cosy experience. If we could offer one piece of feedback it would be the lounges. Admittedly we are all 70 and over but we all agreed that the lounges although leather and would have been comfortable in their day were now too soft low and unsupportive for this group of older but still quite fit group. Ideally we would have loved firm seating and with foot stools. We would stay longer and return most definitely if these were upgraded (and probably would have lit a fire to really appreciate the ambience that would have been created). Loved local eateries and the walk trails. The distance from home and the opportunity for crafting on the deck or dining room table ... just couldn't sit and chat for very long on the lounges. Don't mean to sound unappreciative but when we find the whole picture it will become our annual or 6 monthly excursion. "
