"Great amenities (washing machine & dryer in the bathroom awesome) & to be so close to Fushimi Inari. It is quite a long way from other sights in Kyoto though but close to a local train station so fine if you’re happy to take transport to get around. Beds great & nice feather pillows. Very clean & tidy but be aware there is no front desk so it’s best to do the check-in prior to arriving. We had an issue with an alarm going off at one point and the staff I rang were very helpful though. There are also no lifts so you have to carry bags up steepish stairs, which is fine if you’re travelling light & able bodied. Not so good for older people who find 4 flights of stairs difficult. "

"The lobby of the hotel is very artsy. Basic amenities are available such as toothbrush and toothpaste, razor, cotton swabs, pajama shirt, and my favorite, bath salt with various aromatic oils. They also give you two water bottles daily which ia nice. The sink of our bathroom didn't drain well but they fixed it right away. The shower head doean't want to stay in place. Facility does seem old and the heater was dusty. But overall it was comfortable staying here. About 6min walk to Karasuma line and 15min walk to Kyoto Station which wasn't bad. You can even walk to Fushimi Inari area (~25min walk) if you feel like. There is a small bar right across of the hotel and a ramen shop that seems to have a line most of the time. A cute bakery on the corner, Lawson is right there too. A tattoo friendly sento is 1 min walk as well, where all the locals seem to go. You can get the ticket to the bathhouse at the lobby and they will also lend you the bath kit as well."

"Owners and staff were extremely helpful, especially when using the luggage forwarding. Use of common area is perfect for buying groceries and making own food ( There is a 24 hr grocery store nearby). The rooms are beautiful, abeit the walls are thin. it does not deter from staying here and would recommend for anyone wanting the old feel with updated features.It is also conveniently close to 2 train stations. which makes transit relatively easy."

"Very nice hotel with friendly staff and super clean rooms. The price it’s amazing for the room size, other hotels for this prices were much smaller in Tokyo and Osaka. My room had two beds which is always useful to avoid any issues over sleep. Room had very great space, balcony, good sized closet, a table for two, TV, bathroom with private toilet, full shower and tub and full equipped lavatory. It also has a good sized counter to put stuff on and it also converted to a sink by lifting the top part of the counter. The room was fully equipped with microwave, dishes, glasses, cups, etc. it has a 24 hours self service cafe machine which is nice/ It’s also located in a quiete neighborhood a 15 minutes walk from Kyoto station."
