We arrived late and the night manger was perfect warm greeting and showed us to our room to our surprise he was there for breakfast as well. "Nice friendly place that seems to provide a lot of local employment. Staff seemed happy and were helpful. The room and bathroom were on the smaller side, but it's an old building, not much they can do about that. Big balcony and wonderful sea view. Breakfast was good mix with cereal, fruit and hot food. They even did some veggie sausages specifically for us. The evening food seemed expensive. But there are plenty of other places to choose."

"property located in a quiet residential area located at 20 minutes walk from town centre .property is a bid dated and could do with a bit more cleaning .no much water coming for the shower ,bed and sofa bed very uncomfortable and we had a cockroach visiting while we were there .we found a trap under the sink in toilet therefore business must be aware of issue. not many choices for a family room in the area especially at last minute but we won’t return in this hotel "

My room was well equipped with TV, Fridge and Kettle plus storage for clothing if I needed to use it. The site also has ample parking. A gem of a hotel
"Fabulous, our room 402 had a huge balcony with views over the estuary and of the pier. Staff were very friendly and attentive, evening meal of sharing steak was cooked exactly as we like it and breakfast was also very nice, highly recommend the full English for the hungry or sausage muffin. The location is also great, up on the cliff away from the noise but only a short walk to the lift and no more than 5 minutes walk to the pier. My only suggestions to make this perfect would be to make a little more of the balconies with some high end table and chairs and some instructions for the shower, first use was interesting :) Thank you for making our break in Southend stay wonderful."
