If I could give this place 10 stars I would. An incredible experience that I will always remember. I cannot think of anything that was not exceptional.

The icing of the cake... Or the smooth cream of the parfait in my view. I can understand why people come here again and again for the food. It is also by far the best ryokan experience and best customer service. They are very prompt, helpful, friendly, and go beyond the expectations. Dinner is essentially a kaiseki, top of the class Japanese fine dining experience. The private onsen is a must, in particular during cherry blossoms for a romantic experience. It was an absolute gem to stay at. It’s the first time I have experienced Japanese hospitality and I was just blown away. From the dining room to the heated bath area everything was 5 star. I look forward to a return visit

The staff were so friendly and helpful, we loved the traditional breakfast, they were accommodating to my husband who can’t eat fish. They have a courtesy bus that takes you to Arashiyama which I didn’t know and so glad they suggested. The futons are hard but I got used to them. They also said their onsen is tattoo friendly. But most of the place is in such a spectacular forest it was so pretty in the late autumn I will definitely be going back.

A fantastic location in a secluded part of the Kyoto mountain area. Close to some spectacular temples with stunning views. Hospitality was A++ and very traditional. Great experience meeting and talking with geisha also. Highly recommend.
