Perfect except for one thing.
Loved this place. Lovely and helpful staff, great location, good breakfast, very nice room. The only thing that prevents me from giving it a perfect rating is the noise I heard from my neighbors. I could only hear my neighbors on one side of me, which leads me to believe that not all rooms would have this problem. I was there for two nights. The first night I could hear from my bed the Brazilian couple next door who were loudly speaking until 12:30 a.m. (I lived in Brazil so I could recognise the accent). The next night it was an American couple, sounded like they were from the south. They got back to their room at around 11:30 p.m. and began talking loudly and walking around. This lasted about an hour. Again, I could hear entire sentences from my bed. It would help if the management could remind people to try and be quiet after 11 p.m. I can’t imagine that people want others hearing their conversations.

A romantic space in Haro (La Rioja), clean with attentive personnel (Cristina and Tiago) receiving you. Conveniently placed you can be in less than 3 minutes in "La Herradura"(where nice bars and restaurants are located). We were in love with Haro and, God willing, will return and stay in Hotel Arrope.

I had a nice room though it only had a skylight. The staff was friendly and welcoming. One major and one minor issue. The ads all say that wi-fi is included. Actually what was included was only 30 minutes of wi-fi per device. When I tried to log in with the same device I got a message saying that I had exceeded the maximum! One minor issue that I was baffled by. There were two bottles of water in the refrigerator. There was a sign with some instructions that I could have a free bottle of water sent to my address if I followed certain (cumbersome) instructions. But if I just took the water I would be charged 15 euros each!!!! That's a new world record for the price of water as far as I'm concerned. What could the hotel be thinking? Why would I go to all the trouble they asked, just so someone would send me a bottle of water?

Good Morning: I think there has been a misunderstanding. Bottles cost € 15, but water is free! If you like the bottle and want to get one, you must follow the instructions. The 30-minute wifi is for customers, but for guests it is unlimited. It is possible that the person who gave you the ticket was confused. sorry for the inconvenience

Perfect Getaway Hotel
We decided last minute to go to Haro and Arrope was just the perfect place for us to stay since what we wanted to do was to be all within walking distances. The Bodegas which we toured were 10 minutes away and the hotel was perfectly located to walk around town. The service at the hotel was great and even the bar downstair and restaurant was of high quality if back in town we will definitely be back in here.

A welcome stay in hotel. Staff assisted with booking visits to local winery. Lovely spacious room. Breakfast choices - standard local breakfast at 5 euro or baffling 9 euro buffet breakfast. This option involved offering a bewildering choice of options piled up on your table - not a genuine buffet breakfast ! Would not recommend restaurant for evening meal - staff positively rude and - this may be language misunderstanding - but we would never return here ! Food uninspiring - would recommend using local bars for tapas / pintxos for eating in evening.

Hotel Arrope is very well situated in the middle of Haro; the restaurant serves nice food and the staff is very friendly. Our room was a bit small and the bathroom a bit old. We did not find the air conditioning. But we spent just one night and it was fine.

Great hotel!
This hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. Staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, and the location close to the center of town can't be beat. Our room overlooked the street, and had a side window overlooking the outdoor restaurant below. We enjoyed immersed in the action during a local festival week (Virgen de La Vega) when the entire town was out late every night, but perhaps if you are a light sleeper and know the town is going to be busy during your stay you could request an interior room. My brother and my sister-in-law had a room on the interior and said it was very quiet.

Hotel is fine- clean and pleasant rooms. Very noisy though- and staff is a little slow. Serves its purpose - but I would not recommend going to Haro beyond doing a day trip for wine tasting!

Excellent value. Good central location, with an outside terrace and convenient for the town. It looks as if it is very popular with locals of all ages for a coffee, breakfast etc.. Had a very nice tortilla. We thought the restaurant food, whilst good, was slightly overrated by other reviews. The starters weere very good, but the main courses could be improved a bit. Overall an excellent hotel and we would stay again.

Hotel Arrpoe is a charming boutique hotel. It's very small and cozy. It is not a 24/7 service so you do need to keep in mind that the front desk is not always open. The location is perfect! The rooms are very clean.

We must have been given the worst room in the hotel: an airless claustrophobic place. The breakfast was below the usual standard and we were charged for it despite our contract stating it was included in the room rate. Dinner in restaurant was below standard: two dishes we wanted were unavailable but remained listed on the menu. I ordered wine before being told of one such. Two of the substitute dishes were awful.

Quick visit to wine country
We drove from Madrid to Haro-a 3 hour pleasant drive. We found Hotel Arrope easily and parked on the street a couple of doors down- we paid from a machine. Friendly staff, great little bar on the main floor- fantastic coffee!! Nice corner location- a short walk to night life. The hotel arranged for a 4 hour private wine tour which took us into the vineyards and a couple of wineries-$$ well spent. It is an easy walk from hotel to wine tastings. Hotel does have an elevator. We enjoyed our 2 night stay-expedia is very helpful.

Great location, great room - there is 1 trade off
Depending on which room you're in, the one trade off in this great hotel is noise. We were directly above the bar and garden on the first floor; great place for a drink both for locals and tourists alike but music and late-night talking meant we slept with earplugs. That was something we were willing to do for a lovely room with modern facilities, very centrally located in a beautiful town and with a very reasonable room rate. I would stay here again without hesitation

Lovely hotel in a great location in the centre of Haro, near main plaza and 10 minute walk to the bodegas in the station area. Staff very helpful and friendly, and patient with our basic Spanish! Great bar with terrace for drinks and pintxos, and also enjoyed an excellent quality meal in the restaurant, with of course a bottle of Rioja!

The location of the hotel is perfect, close to the center of town and walking distance to all the major Bodegas in Haro. The restaurant in the hotel is also very good and very friendly service. Wifi connectivity can e an issue at times and it has a tendency to drop. Also, the emergency light in the room can be annoying at night.

Excellent location, right in the centre of town
Very good location, within walking distance of many bodegas. Staff were very helpful in finding a place that were able to do a visit in English. Being in the centre of town do not expect it to be quiet, it is not but you can't have everything.Our only disappointment was that although we had a free buffet breakfast on the first day we was only offered a version of tea and toast, but for any other visitors do ask. Very good secure parking, the cost is well worth it.

I visited Haro, travelling alone, for a much needed short break over May Day and to visit some bodegas in a professional capacity. It's an easy and scenic bus ride of an hour from Bilbao. There are about six buses a day from Termibus in Bilbao which is where the airport bus starts/finishes (every 20 minutes from mid April until September) so ultra convenient for a short trip. Unless you are into bar hopping, eating pinxos, tasting wine and meeting winemakers there is not that much to keep you here more than 24 hours. But if like me that's your thing, then it's great. The Hotel is in the centre of town and an easy walk (if you don't have mobility problems) from the Barrio de la Estación for some famous Bodegas.The surrounding countryside and small towns are picturesque and interesting so if you had a car it would be a good base for touring. The Hotel is clean and comfortable, it was pretty quiet in a street facing room on the second floor too considering it is so central. The staff were really nice and keen to help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. But remember, it is 3* not 4 or 5 so if you need a minibar, gym, concierge service, trouser press etc you might want to look elsewhere (although I am sure the staff would do their best to rustle something up for you). Hairdryers are available on request.

Very pretty, very friendly, not great bed.
The people here were lovely and the room itself was very pretty and incredibly clean and modern. The hot water went out while we were there, but I have no reason to think this is common, and they gave us a reasonable 20% discount as a result. The bed was uncomfortably soft and flimsy, resulting in one of us practically falling in between the two twin mattresses that the hotel had pushed together. We've stayed in other hotels with two twin beds pushed together (not at all uncommon in Spain), but usually the beds are heavy enough that they don't slide around on the floor.
