great location & staff, but the hotel is a bit old, we know that they have new floors they've renovated but did not get put into those floors so the rooms were dated/older. still great value.
This hotel is fairly clean and has a whole lot of subsidiary services, the staff are friendly and helpful. Other than that, they have a theater right next door and it offers great performances from orchestral concerts to animation showcases, not bad at all.
This hotel is fine - nothing amazing but certainly satisfactory. Some of the reviews have mentioned smoking. Smoking is ubiquitous in China and certainly present in the lobby but we must've been lucky with our room as I didn't detect a hint of smoke on our floor nor any smell in the room. Location is superb as it's a 3-4 minute walk from the train station and also the bus terminus. The staff were very helpful in telling us how to get around and which bus to catch (the 7 or 2 serve the main tourist attractions - sometimes they have a letter prefixed but the route is the same - with the 7 running from the bus station to the Lingyu Temple, past the north shore of the lake). The rooms were absolutely fine with a clean bathroom but only one English TV channel. English language skills vary with the staff but we encountered no problems. Note, however, that wifi is only available in the lobby.
Excellent for the price but no Wifi is a big minus
I had a single room for one night. The room was on the small side, but with a nice view and very tastefully appointed for the price range. The appearance and quality of the room was closer to hotels in a higher price bracket. Hotel is located within a 5 minute walk of the train station, which makes it perfect for sightseeing Hangzhou if you are there for only a short while, as I was. The biggest strike for this hotel was the lack of Wifi service, as this is the only hotel I have ever stayed at that did not offer Wifi, in any price range, and it was sorely missed. Staff's English was minimal.
I've traveled a good bit in China and elsewhere so I've seen a wide range of accommodations. If you're staying here, it's not because the rooms are so spectacular as it's not. The place was perhaps at one time very nice, but now is a bit dated, but well maintained. I chose it because it's located within 5 minutes walk from the train station, was reasonably priced and from reading prior reviews, the rooms were clean. Indeed, it was all of those things. The hotel staff have provided everything you could possibly need which is really nice, including wired LAN internet and wireless in the rooms, a couple of apples and a fruit peeler in a bowl awaiting your arrival, bathrobes, toothbrushes, complimentary water (in addition to a fully stocked mini bar/fridge), tea, water heater, etc. The bathroom had a slight odor, like a gym locker, but it wasn't terrible. You get what you pay for so as long as you don't expect greatness, you'll be perfectly content with it. Being near the train station is convenient if you come by train and are staying for a short period, which was the case with me. I was able to check in and drop my things off immediately. In addition, the next day, they held onto my bags after I checked out so I could go around without having to drag around my luggage.
This hotel is well located, near to the main rail road station. Staff does not speak much english, hard to communicate with them.
Hotel is fine for two or three days stay. Price is O.K. But carpets on the rooms need to be replaced because they are old and kind of smely. Staff with very poor English, hard to communicate with them all. But friendly and helpful!

very dark room
In general, everything is fine for me. However, I found the decoration and light along the corridor and inside the room is *very dark* and make the atmosphere not so right.
