Morning boat trip to Nyombe swamp was fabulous - great to set off in mist and see sun rising then clear- good birds to see in swamp area Food good and service excellent Intermittent electricity in room bit frustrating and need to run shower for 10 minutes before any hot water. Wi-Fi only in main reception / restaurant area "

"One of the top hotels in Kabale. The service given by the staff is outstanding, even by Uganda’s high standards. Good range of food on offer in the dining hall, and a great breakfast included in the price. Hotel is becoming a bit dated, but they are now in the process of updating and modernising the hotel. Good, safe location. "

"My stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge was wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the gardens and properties are beautiful with views overlooking the forest (including the mountain where we did our gorilla trek!). The restaurant area sits atop a hill overlooking a valley with 360 views of the mountains and scenery. The entire property is very peaceful and the restaurant served a three-course meal every evening. The rooms were clean with little welcoming touches when we arrived. I honestly have no complaints, and thanks very much to Gorilla Valley Lodge staff for making our stay in Bwindi incredible. Be prepared to pay for everything on site with cash though! "

"We stayed here for just one night unfortunately as we would have loved to stay longer. The staff does everything to help with planning trips. They work with very devoted guids. For us Elisabeth arranged our guide Christmas who took us to the waterfall and learned us a lot of birding in Uganda. He also took care of the last minute permits for the gorilla tracking. The chalets are beautiful and very well installed with good beds and a spacious and nice bathroom. Shower with hot water without having problems. Food was also good. And of course the beautiful vieuws of the forest. Just 5 minutes to the gate for the Gorillatracking. Highly recommanded!"

"We made a booking for this place to discover they were overbooked and we left standing in the lobby clueless what was going on for 2 hours. The manager completely ignored us taking calls intentionally when we were trying to resolve the situation. They downgraded us to a standard and expected us to pay full price until we called them out on this blatant deception. After we spoke to our manage magically a deluxe suite opened up and we had the room we paid for. The hot water in the shower latest less than 5 minutes and the mattress was basically a box spring with no padding at all. Not being dramatic, the worst $126 stay I’ve ever had across the world. "
