"Loved my stay at Engiri. I didn't want to leave. The place, the staff, the warm staff, the elephant and hippos roaming about in the mornings - I loved it all."

"A surprisingly well equipped and well conceived property in the south-western region of Uganda. It's very quiet, very well-designed and my wife says it is of European quality - which is a compliment! We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was very spacious. The facilities including gym are way better than in most Ugandan properties. It is a little overpriced and the food is unremarkable BUT if I had to stay near Mbarara and I could get the rate down by 30% this would definitely be my preferred...

"The property gives you high luxury in the middle of nature. But what makes the place exceptional is the services given by staff. They treat you like VIP from arrival to check out.
I have done a lot of travel and hotels but this was so far my best experience. It brings two worlds together and it’s absolutely have to visit place if you are looking for safari lodges"

"We had meetings in nearby Lugazi and originally planned to stay in the town.
However, when the option of staying in the nearby rainforest came up, I decided the cool of the forest and its quietness were a far better option."

"I am really, really tired of hotels claiming that they have ‘free wifi’ (I stay in hotels >300 nights per year). This hotel had only intermittent electricity (so no power to the small fan in the room at night). In 48 hour stay perhaps 2 hours of connectivity. I encourage Hotels.com to add a third category “wifi MAY be available”"

"My stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge was wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the gardens and properties are beautiful with views overlooking the forest (including the mountain where we did our gorilla trek!). The restaurant area sits atop a hill overlooking a valley with 360 views of the mountains and scenery. The entire property is very peaceful and the restaurant served a three-course meal every evening. The rooms were clean with little welcoming touches when we arrived....

"Well the staff including Paul, Shawit, Kokob, Moses and Joshua, were absolutely fantastic. They made my stay absolutely memorable. The rooms were spotless, and breakfast options were incredible. Overall, I had an amazing time. 😊"
"The hotel is nice, clean, and quiet. This is my second stay here, and I continue to be satisfied with the experience. The breakfast selection is also very good."
"I was the messy one . Room was clean and fan was enough to cool room in evening . Shower was like many hotels in Uganda without shower curtain so you must be careful or you will get tp wet but you get used to it . The staff were special and went out of their way to prepare food and anything we bought ourselves like watermelon . Anything we asked for was brought immediately . They were kind and a pleasure to deal with. This is my 2nd . stay with them and I was prepared better this year . Pick you up at airport and deliver there again on departure, and my plane was delayed an hour in Addis . A very fair price and I will probably stay there before my departure and next time arriving . The TV was a different programming and many channels were the same but in different languages . No sports , or movies or regular TV but I was busy so didnt watch much.
The sitting area outside was nice and great to unwind after a busy day .Nice for breakfast in the morning as well . Some noisy birds but they are everywhere lol. Great place for the money . "
