"The lovely Mary made us very welcome at check-in even though we arrived early the room was available and was lovely and clean and bright. Big room with a large bed and all the top quality facilities you need. We didnt eat in the Hotel that night but breakfast the next day was excellent. Great hotel in ideal location. Would recommmend"

"Booked this last minute for an overnight stay. Check in was very straightforward and property very clean. We arrived quite late after a day out in York, the pub was quite lively and popular on a Saturday night looked like a nice atmosphere. Room very clean and well appointed. Some noise from downstairs such as doors banging and voices but not excessive and once it was closing time was silent. Shower was hot and steady for both us in the morning and the breakfast cooked to order was excellent with plenty of options. My only small criticism was that it would be nice if they provided conditioner alongside the shampoo shower gel and hand cream in the bathroom, and the mattress was a bit like a bouncy castle which took some getting used to. It would also maybe be a suggestion during the change of seasons to provide a bed throw as the radiator didn’t seem to be on much even when turned up and it was a little chilly overnight at times. Otherwise a great stay and we’d probably book again if visiting family again in the area"

"Place was nice, toilets where...ok. i had an issue with parking. I was told there was an overflow parking area, i walked all round site never found it. A sign would have been useful. The road going in was dreadful, pot holes, bumpy and rutted. Otherwise the cabin was nice."

"Plenty of parking, room was clean, bed was comfy. Set near some wonderful views and in a very quiet area. Evening meal was lovely with plenty of choice, same for the breakfast. Staff were very polite & welcoming. I travel a lot for work and if every place I stayed was as good as this then I would never want to go home."
