"116room has lovely new decor but 114 looks tired with old traditional furniture in it which should be got rid of as it brings the whole feel of the room down and with the size of the room I think a bigger bed would make a good statement in there .. breakfast was ok but more seeds and fruit would be nice ."

"Very clean rooms, love the free water, tea, coffee and milk ect. Great they give a doggie rug for the fur baby and leave a toy. Love the feel of the place , friendly.. free coffee machine, dog treats, water and ice daily in the lounge and sometimes a cake. Staff are friendly and helpful. Easy to book online and check in. Parking is now £4 per day with a scratch card from the hotel for council parking. Used to be included. Great area for all amenities and beach. Stayed a few times and will return to Scarborough soon"

"Great staff, very well-presented and well-maintained hotel. Genuinely one of the cleanest places I've stayed. Easy walk into town or to the beach. I'm not from the coast and it was wonderful to hear the sea at night."

"We loved our stay here, it was so near to whitby centre. The room was good, a negative is no where to dry towels. We had to ask for more coffee and sugar, as we were staying three nights. We will recomnend a stay at Penny Hedge. Staff could not do enough for us , all very friendly and polite. We will come again now we know of the hotel . Caroline and Laura were helpful , we rang because we could not quite find your location on our sat nav. staff helped us on this matter and then found you quickley. kind regards to all at penny Hedge. "The room was very clean, the bed was really large and comfortable, the receptionist we met on arrival and departure was very kind, friendly and made us feel very welcome, also the domestic team were equally helpful and friendly. We were able to book a late checkout at no extra cost which made our stay even better. We really enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely stay again when we visit York. "
