Monarch Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk

6/10 Okay

"Check in.....arrived 3:30pm(Check in was 4pm). Was told my room was ready, but would have to wait 30 minutes. Huh? Or I could pay $25 to enter my "ready" room. I wasn't there 3 hours early and I get that there are early check in rules, but if the room is ready and it's only 20-30 minutes before 4pm, then why not let people check in. Come to find out, that there were 4 couples waiting the 30 minutes. Food and Beverage......Food is mediocre and overpriced. For perspective, a small pizza was 23ish bucks. Buffet was around $60. Staff....Amazing. Only thing that made the $250/night stay worth it. Rooms.....Really nice. Thin walls. Noisy neighbors. Fridge and Coffee maker. Bathrooms are really nice. Overall, not worth it. If prices were $150-$175ish, then I would say go for it. Better options for cheaper in the area."
