Hotel Abaco was very centrally located, clean with antique decor. Aurora and staff were very helpful and accommodating. Be aware there is not an elevator and there are lots of steps to get to second floor , it wasn’t a problem for my husband and I . The breakfast was good and simple, I would recommend it à good value for your money .

Very clean and staff was friendly. Communication was very difficult. Hotel is very old. Bathroom was separate from hotel room. Did not feel secure due to skeleton keys for room access.

The location of the hotel was fabulous. It was easy walking to all major attractions and train station. Good service for breakfast even giving it early one morning. The hotel itself although mentioned no elevator failed to mention it was 55 steps up to the hotel. That’s almost three stories of steps. They also didn’t provide any luggage assistance there. Also city tax, we found out upon check out it was a cash only transaction which really surprised us. Finally the bathroom was incredibly small. It was approximately 1 m by 1.5 m and contained the shower sink and toilet. The problem was the toilet was beside the sink and where you stood to use the sink was the shower. This means that if someone showered in the morning and someone else needed to use the toilet all the floor was wet for the other person. Towels were more like table cloths than towels. The plumbing was incredibly noisy so if anyone used the toilet, even in adjacent rooms it made horrible noises. There was also instructions on what not to put in the toilet. The air conditioning required research on the internet to get working. Was not easy to used and struggled to keep the room at a comfortable temperature.

Small pension in a very good location. Each room decorated with different artists team, nice! Very helpful staff. The only minus was a steep staircase to the entrance.

Un albergo ottimo

A lovely place to stay, close to everything in a lovely old building. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The children in particular LOVED the breakfast ( especially the Nutella). Grazie mille! We would love to go back.

Lovely, clean room that had the essentials. Room had a small fridge but not a smart TV. Otherwise, the area was good-lots of shops and walking distance to the Uffizi Galleries and the Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze.

We were warmly welcomed. Our room was ready for us any incredibly comfortably. The air worked great after a day of hiking around in the sunshine. We slept comfortable and peacefully with absolutely no sounds from the street, or the hotel, waking us. Breakfast was delicious and filled us for the morning. Service was prompt and cheerful. Would definitely recommend!

Small, quaint room. Private bathroom, not en-suite, just off of the breakfast area, which was a bit awkward. No elevator FYI. Otherwise a delightful stay!

Hotel Abaco is quirky, charming and authentic. It was very convenient for us to walk around Florence, and is very close to lots of restaurants, cafes, museums, and wonderful small shops. In fact, for a busy few days as a tourist in Florence it could not be better. OK - it's old, and you have to climb 55 stone stairs to it (it's on the 2nd floor) but it would not be authentic otherwise. La Signora who runs it was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed visiting!

Great location, workers were very nice. RV size wet bathroom, tablecloth thick towels. No elevator so you had to walk up a few flights of stairs and down. Our room opened up into the middle of the dining area which could be awkward in the morning when we left.

Our experience in Florence

Fantastic location, breakfast small but goid, very old city location so rooms small especially bathroom, got noidy esrly in thr morning as breakfast area right outside our room. Overal would recommend if looking at convenient location? As a disabled person whivh it had been made clear how many glights of stairs to climb to reach hotel. Very eadyvto walk to from main station.

Worst bed ever!

Awful, terrible bed. Cannot overstate this enough. Location was great though, so if you like being close to things and don't intend on sleeping or you're making a booking on behalf of someone you don't like, this is the place for you.
