Although Hong Kong can be a very expensive place to visit, if you book well in advance and do a bit of a research, you can easily find cheap flights. This is a good thing, as you will need to save as much money as possible on flights and accommodation in order to indulge in some of the unique shops and fantastic restaurants. But spending is not the only activity that the city is known for. You can also enjoy free amusements such as the nightly laser show, the museums and sightseeing.
Hong Kong has two peak seasons: March to April, and October to December. These months can be a bit cool at night but during the day, they are sunny and mild. The beautiful climate makes it easier for tourists to experience one of the many local activities, such as ferry rides, exploring the vibrant art scene or viewing the extraordinary temples.
Although the peak season in Hong Kong can be chilly, temperatures begin to really drop during the shoulder season, which falls between January and February, then again in May. Tourism thins out during these months; however you may see larger crowds around the time of the Lunar New Year.
The off season, which falls between June and September, sees an increase in humidity and a decrease in tourism. Because of this, it is easier to find cheap flights to Hong Kong, if you do not mind a bit of moisture in the air.
Distance: 38km to Central Hong Kong
One of the quickest and most economical forms of ground transport is the Airport Express. This train is reasonably-priced and takes roughly 24 minutes to get into Central Hong Kong. Buses are also inexpensive, but take much longer. If you require more flexibility in your trip, you may also take a taxi; however taxis are significantly more expensive than other options.
